"Don't be so arrogant, Madam Scott." Heinz spoke calmly o
"If I was as you described, you would no longer be here talking to me. You would have lost the protection of the Quell family."
Miranda was stunned for a moment, and she sneered as if she didn't believe him.
Heinz added, "Did you really think that I can't contact Mr. Quell and tell him about you misusing his name and connections to free Marry?"
By now, Heinz had already figured out Miranda's thoughts. This was most likely her plan.
Meanwhile, Miranda had an unpleasant expression on her face.
Her gaze shifted around uneasily, and it was clear that Heinz had seen through her thoughts.
Then, he smiled and continued, "Mr. Quell is very respectable and well-known in the capital city. He is definitely not the kind of person who can't distinguish right from wrong."
Miranda sneered. The expression on her face gradually changed, and she looked very livid. "How would you know that Mr. Quell doesn't know about
what I've done?"
Heinz was relatively calm as he gazed at the woman in front of him impassively.
"Of course, Mr. Quell doesn't know." Heinz said firmly again, "Madam Scott, I advise you not to do this if you want to keep it a secret. You've used Mr. Quell's name to do a lot of things, so it seems to me that you have no idea how their family operates."
Miranda's expression became stiff as she lowered her gaze. Her eyes were full of anger, but she could not help but suppress it.
Seeing this, Heinz stayed calm like a pool of stagnant water.
Next, he said calmly, "I can tell you how the Quell family works. Mr. Quell will defend you well but he is governed by his moral compass, so no one is allowed to do anything that will affect the reputation of the Quell family."
Miranda wanted to argue, but as soon as she looked up and saw the look in Heinz's eyes, she was speechless.
Heinz did not give Miranda a chance to speak at all. He continued, "So, what you did obviously missed the point by a whole lot."
"I didn't." By now, Miranda was a little confused. "It was you who bullied my daughter. How could I let you do that? Otherwise, you would think that Marry is weak."
"Madam Scott, you're obviously trying to game the judicial system, but you still want to deny it? Do you think you can get this past Mr. Quell?"
Miranda's heart skipped a beat.
There was a frantic look in her eyes, but she pursed her lips and sneered. "Heinz, Mr. Quell is my husband. I'm afraid you don't know how he treats me. I have been taking care of him for all these years, and he has done the same. Perhaps he is willing to make an exception for me."
Heinz found it difficult to believe Miranda's words.
Mr. Quell was someone who analyzed the pros and cons of every situation very clearly. Hence, he would definitely not tolerate the surrounding people who used his name for their own personal gains and not to mention, illegal agendas.
Needless to say, that was unless he didn't know about anything.
