Grace and Heinz exchanged glances with each other without saying a thing.
Well, of course.
It was indeed a plan that targeted Little Gary.
This little guy had been bullying a little girl in kindergarten, bullied his own dad, and now, he started to rebel against his mommy.
Heinz felt an increasingly immense pressure as a father.
"He's so sharp-witted that he could even sense that he was being targeted. It looks like it'll be hard to cover this up," he thought as he stared at the little guy in front of him.
"Eh? Old Heinz and Mommy? Why did you two exchange glances without talking?" Little Gary had already noticed their discreet body languages. It seemed as if they communicated through telepathy. Just because he was young, it did not mean that he was not sharp enough to have noticed little details such as these.
Of course, he would have sensed something going on.
"Sorry, what?" Grace responded nonchalantly as she took a look at him, "Do focus on your food during meal times."
"Mommy, liars will turn into Pinocchio!" He protested instantly.
Immediately, Grace started coughing to the point she almost choked herself.
She thought to herself, "This little guy is really intelligent and sensitive."
"Mommy, is everything alright?" Little Gary asked in a concerned manner.
"Don't worry, I'm fine." She merely coughed twice. Thank God she managed not to choke, otherwise that would be horrible.
However, right after that, he continued questioning, "Mommy, people who secretly feel guilty tend to cough, so why don't you come clean with the truth? You were targeting me, right?"
"Why? Are you feeling guilty?" She wasn't dumb either. She stared at him in a serious manner, "You've been going on and on about this for so long while Ernest and Lowell remained completely quiet. Out of everyone here, you're the one who's been super thrilled about this. Gary Smith, why don't you tell me if you are the one feeling guilty instead?"
Little Gary's eyes appeared artful for a moment.
Indeed, he was feeling a little guilty so he lowered his head as he didn't dare to stare at his mother any longer.
It felt like something wasn't right that day, as if Mommy and Old Heinz found out something. Worse still, it felt like he wasn't able to get a grip and take charge as he usually did.
He sensed that something went wrong, but at the same time he couldn't pinpoint what exactly went wrong. "What is going on?" He wondered.
Something must have gone wrong.
"What is there for me to feel guilty about?" He countered immediately, "Mommy, don't change the topic okay. Tell me, why have you guys been targeting me?"
"I got it!" After remaining in silence the entire time, Ernest said, "Daddy and Mommy must have overheard our conversation and are worried that you would start a puppy love with that little girl. That must be why they've been targeting you."
Feeling stressed, Heinz frowned as the veins beneath his forehead twitched. "D*mn it, these two guys are really bright," he thought.
"Nope!" He shook his head, "I'm not worried about puppy love since the both of you aren't girls, so I won't have to worry about you two being taken advantage of by other boys. In fact, I can't wait for you two to settle down as soon as possible, so that you guys could stop fighting for your mommy with me.
"Old Heinz," Little Gary widened his eyes as he glared at him, "You're so evil. I can't believe that you're really hoping for us to quickly get wives so that we won't be the third wheels between you and mommy."
Heinz was startled.
This little guy could always twist his words around to get back at him, so he felt at a loss for words at this moment.
Little Gary merely brushed it off though. He said as he looked at Grace, "Those families with daughters are going to be so terrified of you guys. Looking at how you guys are behaving now, I bet Mommy must be pregnant with a little girl. It must be a little sister as a revenge against you, Old Heinz, since you don't seem to care about your sons. Only then will you understand what it's like to worry over a daughter."
