After the two of them tidied up, Jasper accompanied Ruby for lunch. After lunch, Jasper kissed Ruby goodbye and parted ways.
Meanwhile, Ruby returned to her room.
When Liam woke up, his sister was painting.
Seeing his brother rubbing his head, Ruby put down her pen and said gently, "I told you not to drink so much, but you never listen. Are you feeling unwell now?"
"That tomboy Olivia provoked me. How can I admit defeat to a girl?" He had been indeed careless. His head still hurt in a daze.
"Ruby, have you eaten anything?"
"Yes. What about Harper? And are they up? Wash your face and I'll send them back after the meal. We'll stay at Grandma's house tonight. You can help them with the homework."
"Ah, didn't Vincent and Dalton hire tuition teachers? Why do they still need us to teach them? They must be idiots." It was a torture for him to finish his high school and the days of doing endless exercises. Liam did not want to recall the knowledge in school. Studying was simply a nightmare.
Ruby patted his arm and said, "Shut up. You only know how to have fun. Our parents have been on a trip. We've grown up and we have to help watch over the kids. It'll be a week at most. Hurry up and wash your face."
His sister's words were like a law. No matter how unwilling Liam was, he was still very obedient to Ruby's words. He replied unwillingly, "Got it. I'm just complaining."
Liam did not return to his room. Instead, he washed up right in Ruby's room. He also used his sister's facial cleanser, skincare products, hand cream, and even her perfume as usual.
"Liam."
Liam's muffled voice came from the bathroom. "Ah, what's wrong?"
Ruby knew that his brother was brushing his teeth the moment she heard his voice. She walked into the bathroom and wrung a towel for his brother. She pulled on her black shirt guiltily to block the spots on her body. "Did you tell Dad that you slept in the same room as me last night?"
"Ah, no. When?"
Liam turned to look at Ruby in surprise. He looked innocent as if he had never said anything.
"So why did Dad say so? Didn't Dad call you this morning?"
'Did he call me? When?'
Liam brushed his teeth as he tried to recall if he had received his father's call in the morning. After a brainstorm, he finally remembered. "Oh, I remember now. I think I received a call in this morning. Was it from Dad?"
'So it was Liam spouting nonsense in sleep.' Ruby finally believed it.
"You told Dad this morning that we stayed in the same room last night. Dad called me this morning to confirm it. I said the same thing. Don't let it slip. You don't want him to know you are a drunkard, right?" Ruby was afraid that Liam would notice something wrong with her. So after handing over the towel, she directly left the bathroom.
Liam was very grateful to his sister for covering for him. He shouted at the top of his lungs, "Ruby, thank you."
The next second, Liam's complaints came from the bathroom. "I think that Dad is going through menopause. He wanted to go out on a travel and then he did it without hesitation. Mr. Trevon spent so much money to invite him out. Why is he still watching over me? I'm already an adult. Does he have to do this?"
After leaving the hotel, Ruby brought the Landor family's kids back. Then, she went to the studio and sent Jasper a message telling him her whereabouts. She said that she was going to stay with the Landor family tonight and for the next few days.
Cyril, Nona, and Olivia were taken away when Jasper left. After all, the Ruby car could not accommodate so many people.
Jasper knew Ruby's personality and had already guessed that she would move to the Landor family, so he did not take the Landor family's kids with him when he left.
Five days later, the tourists returned. When they left, each of them had a suitcase. When they returned, each of them took back three suitcases in their hands.
Sherri and Rose had the most. Now that someone was willing to pay the bills, they had to go shopping with all their energy.
Whether it was Sherri or Rose, they both adhered to the principle of taking advantage of others. Their steps spread across every street they went and their hands touched every item their eyes landed. Sherri, particularly, turned her sadness into a desire to buy.
Whether it was food, accommodation, or travel, Trevon would pay for everything this time. Therefore, they regarded shopping as breathing. They bought whatever they saw. After all, this was a rare opportunity.
September came quickly. Kade was in his second year of high school. Nona and Cyril were in their third year. Harper followed Liam to Athana University. Edward chose the same major for him as Liam.
On the first day of school, the Landor family, and the Roberts family both accompanied Harper to university. It was a grandiose scene. Even Harper felt a little awkward. He did not look like he was going to school. Instead, he looked like he was going out to work, to start a career like what the movie characters did.
On September 16th, Hackett was helping their daughter unpack her luggage again. He asked worriedly, "Ruby, how long will you be gone for?"
The suitcase was zipped up. Hackett helped to lift it. Ruby stood beside him and replied, "Dad, I'll only be gone for a few days. I'll be back in five days at most. I'm going to participate in the design competition, not for anything else. Besides, isn't Winnie with me?"
"I'm just asking. Do you want a private plane? I can buy one for you."
Ruby refused. She felt that her father was too nervous and said gently, "No need. We are rarely out for a trip. Our business is all in the domestic market, right? We don't have real estate overseas. Why would we buy a plane? It's a waste of money."
"Okay, I'll put your suitcase here. I'll take you to the airport tomorrow."
Ruby nodded to reassure his father. "Okay."
Hackett walked out of his daughter's room and went straight to his. Sherri went to look for Natalie at night. She had not returned home yet. Sherri said that she was having a meal with Natalie. Her main purpose was to find out if Jasper had broken up.
