Izabella knew that her relationship with the Felton family was completely over. From now on, they only had business cooperation and nothing else.
Brett drove away all the people who loved her, leaving her isolated. The most important things in life were to eat well and be loved, but Brett wanted to turn her into a completely dependent parasite.
The Felton Group's business had been dismal in recent months, with huge losses. It was said that they had offended Brett, and now that the Windham Group was taking the initiative to cooperate, the rumors died down. It wouldn't be long before the Felton Group would return to normal.
Izabella felt relieved after signing the contract. Her heart finally settled down.
Time passed in an orderly manner, and half a month went by in a flash. Izabella worked at the Windham Group, and the usually busy man somehow found time to watch her. He called her for meals every day, went home together, slept together, went to work together... Their lives were so disciplined that, with regular medication, Izabella's illness didn't flare up for a long time.
They seemed like a loving couple, completely different from what was reported in the news.
Unbeknownst to Izabella, she and Brett had already been privately dubbed as the "model couple" by their employees. They had been growing more and more affectionate over the years, setting an example for others.
One day, Izabella went for a checkup at the hospital. Her mental wellbeing showed no sign of an upcoming episode. Amelia gave her the medicine Presley had sent and took five tubes of blood for testing.
"Your rest this month has been good, and your complexion has improved."
Izabella unconsciously touched her face. "I guess it's alright."
"Just keep it up. Do you still cough up blood?" Amelia asked.
"I did once the week before last. It was a small amount, but not as bad as before."
"That's good," Amelia nodded, then said after a pause. "Brett isn't with you today."
"No, he's not."
"Perfect timing then."
Before Izabella could react, Amelia got up. "There's someone who's been waiting for you in the hospital for a month."
Who could be waiting for her in the hospital for a month? Izabella racked her brain but couldn't figure it out. Amelia made a call, and after a few minutes, they heard hurried footsteps outside.
Through the half-open door, Izabella saw Ryker standing outside.
Ryker ran all the way, afraid that Izabella would leave if he were a step too late. He took a few deep breaths to catch his breath before wiping the sweat from his forehead and knocking on the door with restraint.
Amelia gave Izabella a look.
