Brett had known Nathaniel for ten years and knew him very well. He knew Nathaniel was a fickle guy and there was no one he couldn't hook up with. A naive girl like Izabella might fall into his trap if she wasn't careful.
Thinking of the possibility of Izabella being taken away by Nathaniel, Brett was so angry that he wished he could just swallow her up.
Grinding his teeth, Brett pinched Izabella's chin as if he wanted to crush her.
In pain, Izabella closed her lips and tears couldn't stop flowing down her face. Was this her husband who would rather trust the photos than her words?
In her heart, she thought she might be considered a prostitute who could sleep with any man.
The pain in her eyes broke Brett's hearts. She hoarsely said, "Brett, what does it matter to you who I meet and what I do? How can you limit my freedom? I'm a human being, not a pet in a cage."
At this moment, Brett's eyes were cold. He nodded and gritted his teeth, "What's our relationship? Do you want me to prove it to you?"
As soon as the words finished, the sound of clothes being torn was heard. Izabella was in so much pain that her face was pale and her tears couldn't stop flowing. She had to endure not only the pain of her body but also the humiliation from Brett's words.
"If I didn't make that phone call today, would the two of you be ready to sleep in a hotel?" Brett said while pinching her waist hard.
His words were getting uglier and uglier, and Izabella's face was getting worse and worse. She raised her hand and slapped him hard.
She used all her strength, but he just slightly tilted his head. The force was mutual, and the palm of Izabella's right hand was red, her fingertips trembling.
Brett's face darkened: "You hit me for him?"
Breathing heavily, Izabella's hoarse voice seemed to be squeezed from her throat: "Not for him."
Taking a deep breath, Izabella choked up, "Brett, let's get a divorce. There's no trust between us, and we're only hurting each other." She finally spoke out her heart.
During this time, she really liked Brett. Because of the amnesia, she thought of him as everything and also thought he loved her deeply and could trust her unconditionally. But, it all failed because of a few photos.
If there’s no more trust in their marriage, it's better to end it. She didn’t believe that she couldn’t live without Brett.
The determination in Izabella’s eyes was heartbreaking, but she had used these eyes to look at him before her amnesia, which scared him.
"You want to divorce me?"
"Yes," Izabella repeated, "let's get a divorce."
