Twisted Ties of Love novel Chapter 311

"Brett, you know this ain't right..."

Brett questioned, "Kaley, don't tell me you're just figuring out who I am?"

She'd known Brett for years, knew his deep-seated grudges, and more importantly, knew he didn't give a damn about the law.

Kaley, trembling, watched as the man approached her. Cold to the bone, she seemed like a withered leaf in the winter wind, ready to crumble at any moment.

Her bloodshot eyes fixed on the cold-hearted man, "Brett, don't tell me you've felt nothing for me in these seven years?"

"Feelings?" Brett scoffed like he'd heard a bad joke, "Do I need to remind you how you tricked me all these years? Kaley, you lied to me, I saw you as nothing more than a stand-in."

Just like Izabella, she only loved the guy who bought her donuts and brought her home many years ago. He wasn't the guy, but he played the part willingly; only Izabella wouldn't even give him the chance to be the replacement.

Who was being used? Who really fell in love?

"Brett, your love comes cheap. All these years with you, I can't even compare to Izabella who saved you once. We've known each other for over a decade, hell, even a dog would've grown fond by now."

Brett stared coldly at Kaley's clown-like face, "Don't make yourself out to be some saint. If you really loved me, you wouldn't have hopped into bed with another guy, let alone got caught red-handed."

He knew deep down, he was the real villain compared to Kaley. He didn't even have the right to blame her; they were both thieves of love.

Brett didn't cut off Kaley's hand or tongue; he just had her dumped in a poor village. She wanted a life of luxury, didn't she? Well, he'd make sure she didn't get it. Let her beg for a living, bowing down to the people she once looked down upon.

Both physically and mentally, Brett inflicted dual torment on Kaley. She was left in a state where she wished to live but couldn't, wished to die but couldn't.

Two weeks later, Brett heard about Kaley again. A reporter had run into her while traveling, a reporter who had been invited to Kaley and Brett's engagement party.

Among all the unscrupulous reporters, he was one of the worst. As long as it was trending, he didn't care about if it was right or wrong. He posted Kaley's pathetic behaviors online, even hired some PR firms to promote it.
