"It doesn't matter if I said that four years ago or now, the only way you'll be able to leave me is in death," Brett declared, his tone resolute. He grabbed Izabella forcefully, pulling her into his embrace against her will.
"Izabella, your heart can only belong to me," he asserted, his grip tightening.
Witnessing his audacity and his sense of entitlement, anger surged within Izabella, causing her stomach to ache. She looked up at him, her eyes filled with indignation. "Brett, you can't even control your own heart, and yet you expect to control mine?"
"Don't compare yourself to me. I've told you, Kaley is different. She won't mind," Brett retorted dismissively.
To him, marriage and love were separate entities. He believed that even after getting married, he could still treat Kaley well, and they could live in peaceful coexistence, just as they had before.
As long as his marriage with Izabella is still there, he won't allow her to have anything to do with others, even if their marriage is just a contract on paper, not even spiritually because he has a cleanliness habit.
Izabella didn't know what he was thinking, but just listening to what he said, she was totally shocked by his shamelessness.
She always knew Brett was scum, but she didn't know he was so scummy and didn't even realize how shameless his words were! Just saying these things so high and mighty was so typical of him!
Izabella's stomach hurt even more. In addition to the pain, she felt cold. It was spring and the temperature wasn't low, but she seemed to be feeling the cold of winter, as if she had been thrown into a snowy ground and chilled all night. Her lips were stiff and it was hard to speak.
"If Kaley heard what you said, she might cry out from a blood fest."
"She won't," Brett stared at her, with a seriousness he had never shown before. "I've made it clear to her."
When Brett told Kaley about these things, she seemed a little disappointed. However, she quickly accepted the situation without resisting, unlike Izabella, who had something to say about it. This left Brett somewhat confused. If Kaley could accept the arrangements, why couldn't Izabella?
"Strange birds of a feather flock together," Izabella mocked, expressing her disdain. "You two really disgust me. I'm different from her, that's for sure."
