Brett used to find it gross, but now he was strangely looking forward to it. Since Izabella was good-looking, the baby from her belly couldn't be too bad either.
What Brett didn't know was that his mentality had changed, the woman he used to despise had secretly entered his heart, like a seed buried in the soil.
"When is Kaley getting discharged?"
Brett was holding the steering wheel with a straight gaze, and when he heard Izabella's question, he unconsciously gripped the wheel tighter.
"She'll be discharged in a couple of days. She's a bit traumatized. You better apologize to her when she's back, don't upset her any further."
Izabella found it amusing that he was so righteous, as if she owed Kaley an apology after everything that has happened.
"Apologize? No way, I don't think I did anything wrong. But to avoid further conflicts like this, I've decided to get a job so we won't see each other that much during the day. What do you think?" she kindly proposed.
Brett squinted his eyes. "The Salotti Group is gone, where are you going to work?"
"Is there really no other company in the entire R City that can accommodate me?"
Izabella, once a favored and wealthy lady, had now become someone that anyone could trample on at will. He didn't believe that her arrogant personality could tolerate people's finger-pointing and eye-rolling.
Moreover, he didn't want Izabella to work at all. Losing everything, she was like a flower that should be kept in a greenhouse for people to enjoy, no need for socializing or working.
She should move on from the past and accept his arrangements now.
Being so pretty, Izabella instantly caught people's attention when she went out. When she was still Miss Salotti, people's gazes were mostly polite and unobtrusive. But now, people stared at her without restraint, their eyes almost tearing her clothes apart.
