Roman felt uncomfortable and asked, "Is there no other way?"
Aurora adopted him from the orphanage, giving him a blissful home and showering him with love that he never had before. He wondered if he really had to repay her kindness with such cruelty.
When Linda noticed he was hesitating, she felt annoyed.
However, she still said patiently, "As Dr. Shadow, there's no way Hera would let her patients die and tarnish her reputation.
"So, even if Aurora loses the child, Hera will do her best to save Aurora's life! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't want to do this to my own niece as well."
After saying that, Linda pretended to have second thoughts. "Oh, maybe we should just forget it. I can't do this to my niece for an outsider.
"Aury is a great person. Even if she has a son, I'm sure she'll treat her adopted son equally as well. Just forget what I've said." Then, she turned around and left.
Roman still thought it wasn't wise earlier. However, after hearing Linda call him an outsider, the slightest hesitance in him was taken over by his greed.
He grasped the bottle of pills tightly. Just as he was about to return inside the house, he suddenly heard a branch snapping nearby.
"Who is it?" He immediately rushed toward the groves and pried them apart. Then, he saw a man hiding in there, failing to escape in time.
Roman tensed up, wondering if the man heard his conversation with Linda earlier. If the patriarch found out that he was going to harm Aurora, he would be doomed!
Suddenly, he had a killing intent. Coincidentally, there was a huge boulder next to him. Right when he picked it up, the man in the groves looked up and showed his dirty face. There were even leaves in his mouth and his messy hair.
That man was Xavier Killian, the heir of the Killians with brain damage.
"Oh, it's you. What's a fool like you doing here?" Roman let out a breath of relief. Then, he tossed the boulder aside and dusted his hands off.
