Under the Heiress' Facade novel Chapter 449

There were also a few family doctors and gynecologists standing outside the master bedroom.

Hera didn't see Catherine and Xeno at all. Then, her gaze fell on Karen and Linda. Other than a few extra wrinkles on their faces, they looked exactly the same as they did years ago.

While she looked at them from top to bottom, they were scanning her as well. After 12 years, that young girl from back then had grown into a fine woman.

Karen told someone to look into Hera. After Daphne passed away from the accident back then, Catherine hid Hera at the border of the country. She only brought the latter back when the Everetts found out Hera was their biological daughter last year.

Logically speaking, spending almost a dozen years in a village should make Hera an ugly village bumpkin. However, she looked fair and beautiful. She felt aloof and cold when she stood there, and even the most well-educated member of the Killian family wasn't as elegant as her.

Instead of saying that she had escaped the Killians in the past few years, it felt more like she had a great transformation in the village. Linda's eyes flash with jealousy immediately.

"Why are you so late?" Karen asked fiercely.

"Don't be angry, Karen. Hera's still young, and she doesn't know how to be responsible yet. She probably thought it wasn't important and took her sweet time," said Linda. Although it sounded like she was helping Hera, she was actually adding fuel to the fire.

"If this isn't important, then what is? Do we have to lose Aury and her child for it to be important?" Karen yelled domineeringly as the wife of the patriarch.

"The doctors at the side were so scared that their legs were trembling. They were worried they might be dragged into the mess and lose their jobs forever.

"Hah!" Hera scoffed.

Karen's face instantly darkened so much that it felt like ink could drip out of it soon. Linda noticed it and scolded, "How could you possibly laugh at a time like this?"

"You're still the same and like to start conflicts as ever, Ms. Linda. It's as if you're afraid of a peaceful world," Hera said calmly.
