Hera watched Everly run outside. Although Hera seemed calm and collected on the surface, she was actually terribly disappointed.
In the afternoon, she had already seen the two formulas for Emily's medicine in the drawers. Besides, the western wing also had a surveillance camera pointing toward the northern wing. The camera captured the scene of Isla handing the formula to Everly.
Hera interrogated Everly in front of everyone so that she could give her a chance. If Everly had admitted to her mistake in front of everyone and promised to be careful in the future without making the same mistake again, the matter would have been over. But Everly chose to lie.
That made Hera somewhat disappointed and distressed. After all, she had known Everly for more than ten years.
To her, Everly might be rather cunning sometimes, but at least she was a reliable person. Now, it seemed like Hera had been wrong about her.
"Everly…" Wayne wanted to hold her back but was unable to do so. Worried, he said to Hera, "Hera, I'll go and check on her."
With that, he ran after Everly.
Isla was furious upon seeing that. After all, she was the one who was being accused, but Everly made it sound as if Isla had bullied her.
"Hera, I really passed her the formula. You have to believe me," she explained anxiously.
"I know," Hera answered.
Hearing that made Isla burst into happy tears. "Thank you for believing in me. I'll definitely work hard and repay you for what you've done."
Isla had assumed that Hera would not believe her. She even prepared herself for the worst, thinking she would be fired. She never expected this turn of events.
"As I said before hiring all of you—work hard, and I'll give you whatever you deserve, whether it's treating you well or teaching you well. If you can't do it, please leave," Hera remarked.
Isla nodded obediently. "Yes, I understand. I'll definitely work hard."
