The Lewis family's household staff were all well-trained and well-mannered. None of them had ever experienced something like this. They were so frightened by Brianna's hysteria that they dared not step forward anymore.
"What's going on here?" Joyce asked William.
"I'll deal with this right away, Mom." William walked over to Brianna. He grabbed her arm and dragged her out of the room.
"You can't do this to me, William!" Her screams reverberated around the dining room.
He acted like he didn't hear her and continued dragging her out. It was as if he was in a hurry to get rid of a bag of trash.
Brianna was soon dragged to the dining room's entrance. She grabbed the door jamb and screeched, "I'm pregnant, William!"
William stopped. Silence descended upon the room.
Teresa's first reaction was to turn to look at Tiffany with worry. But the latter merely smiled at her, showing that she was fine. After all, she was the one who'd called Brianna over.
Joyce looked stunned. Meanwhile, Donald Lewis, Williams' father, shot to his feet. He felt utterly disgraced.
Brianna broke free of William's grip and crawled over to Joyce and Donald. She remained on her knees before them as she cried, "My name's Brianna Upshaw, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis. I'm William's girlfriend! He and Tiffany broke up ages ago, and I'm pregnant with his child!"
"What the…" Joyce was gobsmacked. She felt like her world had been flipped on end.
Donald didn't even spare Brianna a glance. He merely looked at William coldly. "How are you going to explain this?"
Before William could say anything, Brianna pulled out a pregnancy examination report. "This is the report I just collected from the hospital!"
No one took it. A few seconds later, William walked over and took it from her. He read it carefully. Then, his pupils constricted.
At the look on his face, Brianna said, "This was issued by Chilburg Central Hospital. If you don't believe me, you can ask a doctor to check me right now!"
