"Did you say those things on purpose, Tiffany?" Kelly looked at Tiffany worriedly. "You deliberately said the baby wasn't William's because you wanted to make way for William and Brianna, right?"
Tiffany shook her head. "No. I was telling the truth."
Kelly glanced at her belly. "Who's the father, then?"
"It doesn't matter anymore."
Kelly looked at her. "What does that mean?"
"Nothing." Tiffany shook her head. She walked over to Teresa and Eric when she saw them leave the house. "Teri…"
Eric's expression darkened when he saw her. He snapped, "Look at what you've done! Why did you say the baby isn't William's? Do you know what you've just missed out on?
"This is the Lewis family we're talking about! What the hell are you thinking, giving up the opportunity to marry into the family?"
Teresa held Tiffany's hand. "What's going on, Tiff?"
Tiffany said, "William and I used to date, but we broke up ages ago. Everything I said in there is true."
"How did the child come about, then?"
"I just got pregnant. The child is mine and no one else's!"
"Your own?" Eric snorted. "How'd you get pregnant without a man?"
Tiffany bit her lip without saying anything. Kelly stood beside the three of them. She couldn't help feeling nervous and scared when she saw Tiffany pursing her lips.
She thought no one would know the truth about Tiffany's child once Tiffany married William. But now that things were like this, she wanted to rip her hair out.
It was impossible to keep a secret forever; Vincent already had feelings for Tiffany. Adding to that the fact that he and Tiffany would see each other often because they worked in the same office…
Kelly genuinely feared Vincent finding out the truth about the baby. She'd be doomed if that happened.
