"I'm a bastard. I won't lay a hand on you again in the future." Eric kept making promises. He took a few steps toward the hospital bed, trying to get closer to Teresa.
Tiffany stared at him warily, not allowing him to approach.
Eric could only stop awkwardly and put on a smiling face. "Tiff, I admit my mistakes."
Tiffany looked at him coldly. "You said the same thing last time!"
She had known Eric was unreliable for a long time. But Teresa wouldn't listen to her. And now, her sister was pregnant with his baby.
Tiffany didn't know what to do.
"There was a reason for what happened this time. I lost my temper and acted recklessly." Eric looked at Teresa. "Teri, I was just too paranoid. Can you forgive me for the sake of our baby?"
"Teri!" Tiffany was afraid Teresa would soften her heart, so she quickly grabbed Teresa's hand.
Teresa closed her eyes. "I'm very tired and confused right now. Eric, please go back. I need some time to think."
"Okay. I'll go back and make some soup for you. Tiff, thank you for staying with Teri," Eric said a few more nice words before happily leaving.
…
Many medications were not suitable for Teresa because she was pregnant, and she couldn't even have the IV drip.
Tiffany suggested going out for a walk, thinking that it was boring in the ward.
Teresa pointed at her face. "Look at me. Won't I scare people if I go out?"
She looked not only physically tired but also mentally exhausted.
"Teri, it's not good for you to stay like this. Let's go for a walk," Tiffany said while taking out two things from her bag—a face mask and a hat.
"People won't see the injuries on your face with these."
Teresa had no choice but to follow her out.
There was a large shopping mall near the hospital, so the two walked there.
