Brianna's exclamation startled Kelly. Lurching in alarm, she opened her eyes.

"Brianna?"

"Why are you being wheeled out of a surgical theater, Ms. Harrison?" Brianna asked as she tagged along while the hospital staff rolled Kelly down the hallway. She even cast a curious glance at the surgical theater.

Kelly forced out a faint smile as she replied, "I had a minor surgery done."

"Are you alone in the hospital?" Brianna cried out. "Why isn't Mr. Lewis here to accompany you?"

"He's busy with work, so I didn't tell him about it," Kelly said.

"Oh."

The hospital staff wheeled Kelly into the elevator to take her to her ward.

After thinking about it, Brianna decided to follow them.

Seemingly uncomfortable with that, Kelly said, "Brianna, what—"

"You can't be alone in the hospital, Ms. Harrison," Brianna interrupted her. "It'll be so inconvenient for you. Since I have nothing to do anyway, I'll accompany you."

"It's fine. You don't need to. This is just a simple surgery. I just need to be under observation for a few hours, and then I'll be discharged. You don't need to waste your time," Kelly said.

In other words, she was trying to shoo Brianna off.

However, Brianna didn't seem to get the hint. She asked curiously, "What surgery did you get, Ms. Harrison? I'm surprised you can be discharged so soon without even waiting for the surgical opening to heal a bit first."

Before Kelly could reply, the elevator doors opened, and Brianna saw the name of the ward Kelly had been brought to. It was the reproductive medicine unit!

Since she couldn't keep it a secret any longer, Kelly told Brianna the truth.

"An artificial insemination procedure?" Brianna sounded confused. "Both you and Mr. Lewis are in the prime of your lives. Why would you need to undergo an artificial insemination procedure?"

"I have a condition, so I had no choice but to resort to this. Brianna, this matter will affect Vincent's dignity too, so I hope you won't tell anyone about this," Kelly said.

"Don't worry, Ms. Harrison. My lips are sealed," Brianna firmly declared.

However, Kelly wasn't convinced. When the doctor allowed her to be discharged a few hours later, she asked Brianna to take her home.

Once they got there, she led Brianna to her walk-in closet. She gave Brianna a few sets of luxury clothing and a set of jewelry before finally feeling like she could trust Brianna to keep her secret.
