Brianna couldn't stomach drinking the milk right now, so she said, "Just put it down first. I'll drink it later, okay?"
Frowning, William said, "You need to drink it when it's warm. Come on. Don't you want what's best for our baby?"
Brianna was conflicted, but in the end, her desire to not disappoint him won out.
"Alright then," she said before taking the cup and downing the milk with a grimace.
William smiled once he saw the emptied cup. "You see? That wasn't so hard."
Since he was smiling, Brianna seized the chance to make a request. "It's such a fine day today, William. Why don't we go out? You said you would take me to the park, but you haven't done so yet. I've been waiting for so long now."
"Maybe next time," William replied. "I promised Dad I'd go to the office with him."
Brianna pouted in disappointment. "Oh, okay. Come home earlier today."
William hummed in acknowledgment as he stroked her hair. "If you have nothing to do, you should take an afternoon nap. The doctor said that getting more sleep is good for the baby."
Right on cue, Brianna yawned. "I do feel a little sleepy. I don't know why I've been feeling drowsy all the time lately."
It hadn't been too long since she woke up, but she was already sleepy.
With a gentle gaze, William said, "Go take a nap. I'll tell the household staff to bring up your lunch for you."
"Okay," Brianna said before heading to bed.
William watched as she got under the blanket. Soon, she fell asleep.
He stood at the door for a moment before closing it and heading back downstairs.
Joyce was still fiddling with her flowers in the living room. When she saw William, she asked, "Where's Brianna?"
"She's sleeping."
