Joyce set down the plate of pastries on the table before saying, "Oh. I forgot to bring out the plate of fruit. Can you help me get it, Tiff?"

She gave Tiffany a look, and the latter nodded. "Alright."

When she entered the house, a maid seemed to be waiting by the door specifically to give her directions. "The kitchen is that way, Ms. Lloyd."

"Got it," Tiffany replied before heading over.

Upon entering the kitchen, she spotted the plate of fruit. Just as she went over to pick it up, she spotted a figure out of the corner of her eye.

After taking another look, she realized it was William.

The kitchen was split into three areas. Tiffany was standing in the second area while William was in the innermost one. Though they were some distance apart, she could still see him slipping two white pills into a cup before stirring.

Once William was done, he picked up the cup of milk and turned around.

The moment he saw Tiffany, his eyes flickered briefly with emotion. However, it was gone before Tiffany could sense what it was.

He approached Tiffany with a faint smile. "Tiffany? Why are you here?"

"Mrs. Lewis asked me to come over," Tiffany replied. She looked at the cup of milk he was holding and asked, "What's that?"

"I made some warm milk for Brianna."

Tiffany didn't ask any further, but the image of him slipping a pill into the milk resurfaced in her mind. She could hazard a guess as to what that pill was.

The two of them headed out to the garden together.

Brianna immediately stood up and took William's arm possessively while glowering at Tiffany.

"Here's your milk," William said, passing the cup over. "Drink up while it's still warm."

Upon seeing the milk, Brianna's expression soured. She even felt like vomiting. "I don't really want to drink it right now."

"Fine," William said, his expression turning cold.
