"This isn't a joking matter. In serious cases, she might miscarry the baby. You have to be more careful with her. After all, she's already got symptoms of bleeding."
Mark's every word was highly impactful, making Tiffany's cheeks flush.
Vincent listened with a frown before replying, "Alright, we'll be careful."
Then, Mark printed an ultrasound order and asked them to head out for an ultrasound.
…
Vincent walked in long strides, leaving Tiffany in the dust. Watching his back, she could feel that his attitude had undergone a profound change.
Suddenly, Vincent stopped walking and looked back at her. Tiffany stopped subconsciously as well.
They stood with some distance between them for a while. They looked close enough, as though they would be able to walk side by side if only Vincent waited and Tiffany walked faster. However, she knew that the distance between them was a chasm she could never bridge. At least, not in this lifetime.
The seconds trickled away in their silent stare-down.
Suddenly, Vincent walked over to her. As Tiffany watched him approach, her heart pounded.
Vincent stopped right in front of her and leaned down to ask, "Why did you stop?"
His gaze swept over her features. He had no idea how this woman could be so attractive. She made him constantly think of her and miss her.
Vincent could bear it in her absence. However, the second he saw her, he couldn't control the desire to get close to her.
If not for the fact that she was pregnant with William's baby and they had gotten back together, he would've thought she had fed him a love potion. It would explain his lack of self-control.
