"I didn't take it! Even my dog wouldn't want that necklace!" Mandy averted her gaze, acting as though she would damage her eyes if she were to look at Alex for one more second.
Tiffany walked over and said, "Mr. Zander, you know what Mandy's upbringing is like. I don't think she needs to steal anyone's necklace."
Alex fell silent. Indeed, the necklace was precious to Patricia, but it was nothing to Mandy.
Patricia suddenly pointed at Mandy's pocket, saying, "Alex, the necklace is in her pocket."
Everyone was dumbstruck, Mandy included. Thinking of something, her gaze gleamed with murderous intent.
Alex grabbed Patricia's hand and said, "Let it go. If it's missing, so be it. I'll buy you a new one."
"But…" Patricia wanted to say something, but Alex shot her a glare, signaling her to shut up.
Tiffany knew what he was trying to do. Alex wasn't going to force Mandy to take responsibility for this matter. It did not matter whether the necklace was in Mandy's pocket or not. He only wanted to keep the peace and get things over with.
Just as Tiffany pulled Patricia out of the washroom, two policemen walked over.
"Who made the police report?"
No one responded.
Tiffany glanced at Mandy. Looking at her stunned expression, Tiffany believed that she probably wasn't the one who had made the report. If it wasn't her, it was…
"I-It's me," Patricia said weakly.
