"This... but it's too many, isn't it?"
Although Coralie was genuinely pleased, it was the first time she laid her eyes on so many lipsticks.
Skylar didn't know how to explain it. "The store assistant recommended me different colors of lipsticks, but I couldn't tell the difference at all. Since each of them was just about 30 dollars, not expensive anyway, I decided to buy more."
For he had already bought them, Coralie put down the bag and wrapped her arms around Skylar's neck. She drew her face close to him and planted a kiss on his cheek. "Thank you, I like them very much."
She only wanted to kiss him gently, but after she brushed her lips against his cheeks, wanting to pull herself away, Skylar grabbed onto the back of her head. In no time, he pressed his lips on hers. It seemed as if he wanted to devour her from the kiss, and he wanted her to know how much he had missed her in this week.
He only let her go when her cheeks were flushing red.
Coralie returned to the passenger seat and kept stroking her face. It was already winter, but the heat lingered on her for a long time.
"Where are we going?"
On the contrary, it was easier for Skylar to calm himself down. Then he ignited the car engine.
"Anywhere is fine."
Coralie's mind was still occupied with their kiss. She couldn't think of where to go for a moment.
Skylar's ideas for a date were still the same as it had been six years ago. When they were in college, Coralie was into the arts. She loved watching movies and occasionally watched a few plays.
"Then let's go to the movies."
As Skylar suggested, he turned the steering wheel and drove the car out of the neighborhood.
......
Skylar took Coralie to the cinema.
Coralie looked at the cinema and was bedazzled by the multitudes of movie posters flashing on the screens. She recalled that it was probably six years ago when she last went to the cinema. It was also when she was still in a relationship with Skylar.
In the past, Coralie always thought that Howard was a man without any romance in him. However, it later dawned on her that it was not because Howard was not romantic, but that he had never spent any effort on her.
Since it was the holiday season, there were many movies to choose from. However, most of them were locally-produced films.
"Choose one."
Skylar usually showed his interest only in the classics, so he rarely visited the cinema.
Just like Coralie, the last time he came to the cinema was almost five years ago.
Coralie picked a movie that was recently released. It was a movie portraying a romance in the 80s. Like any other couple, they bought popcorn and cola before entering the cinema.
However, when Skylar was walking into the cinema, Coralie could hear a girl comment, "That man is so handsome."
"Yes, is he a celebrity?"
In contrast, Coralie was much more inconspicuous. She held the cola in her hands and kept up with Skylar's footsteps.
The movie was very touching, but the ending was perfect yet imperfect. The lead actor and actress had been separated for many years because the actress went to teach in the countryside. Later, they built their own families and had their own children. When both of them grew old, they saw each other at an exhibition. But they could only glance at each other from a distance.
The movie was over...
That one seemingly perfunctory glance was like an overwhelming confession of their love, which endured a few decades.
Coming out of the cinema, many of the people in the audience were crying, but not Coralie. Skylar was a little surprised. "You are not the same as before, when you watch a movie."
