You Complete Me novel (Skylar and Coralie) novel Chapter 124

Valerie didn't expect for Grandmother Holland to refuse her other gifts, and so she was embarrassed by it. She put the box on the tea table and said coyly, "Grandma, I've already brought the gifts here. Do you still want me to take them back?"

Lillian, who was watching from the side, added, "Yes, Mom, it's Valerie's good intention."

"Yes, I chose them personally, but if Grandma doesn't like them, I will choose a few better ones next time."

Valerie deliberately said so. Behind her seemingly kind words were an invisible pressure for Grandmother Holland to accept her gift. After all, Valerie had brought them there, so there was no reason to take them back.

Grandmother Holland had no choice but to nod. "Then just leave them here. You don't have to buy anything when you come to see me in the future."

After all, Grandmother Holland was not short of money. Moreover, deep down her heart, she did not like Valerie.

Although Valerie always did things in a considerate way, Grandmother Holland always had a feeling that Valerie was always pretending.

"Valerie, I came here today to tell Mom that Coralie is pregnant."

Lillian was so big-mouthed that she couldn't hide anything.

Previously, Valerie had told Lillian about Coralie's pregnancy and cautioned her not to tell anyone. However, Lillian went to Golden Town the very next day and asked Coralie to take care of her pregnancy/

It was the same this time.

"Auntie, it's too early for you to say that. Skye may be planning to announce the news only after the first trimester."

After all, the first trimester wasn't a stable period. Most people only announced pregnancies after that.

"We can hire the best doctor, how can it be possible that we can't even protect a child?"

Lillian was full of confidence.

Hearing her words, Valerie took the opportunity to say, "Alas, it's hard to say. People living in the city nowadays are under great pressure. I heard that there's a small church in the south of A City that's famous for blessing pregnant women."

"Is that so?"

Hearing this, Lillian's eyes lit up.

She came from a rural place, so she was quite superstitious.

However, Grandmother Holland did not take it seriously. "These things are predestined."

"In fact, Grandma is right. However, since it's Skylar's child, I hope that the child can be delivered safely. I've decided to go to the church this weekend to ask for some blessings for him."

Valerie looked as if she was full of confidence.

Lillian, who was watching from the side, was moved. She grabbed Valerie's hand and said, "Oh, you so thoughtful, Valerie. However, could this be done on behalf of someone else? I think they should go themselves. I'll ask Skylar to bring Coralie along this weekend."

How could Lillian let someone else receive blessings on behalf of her grandchild?!

In fact, Lillian's words were exactly what Valerie was planning to fish. She went along with her words, "I think it's better for me to go. The church is located in the mountains. A pregnant woman shouldn't tire herself too much. What if she suffers a miscarriage..."

"That's true..." Lillian didn't care about Coralie, but the child in her belly was Lillian's main concern. Since Valerie mentioned it, Lillian wanted Coralie to go to the church herself. She simply said, "Why don't we go three months later? Anyway, it will be soon."

Valerie thought for a moment and said, "That's fine, Auntie. Please let me know when you're going, I would like to contribute to the effort."

Lillian nodded repeatedly.

......

During the weekend, when Coralie and Skylar were shopping for baby products, Lillian called and told Skylar about the plans to visit the church in the month of May.

Originally, Skylar did not believe in this, but Lillian insisted. Skylar had no choice but to agree to it.
