Coralie was not being thick-skinned, but she felt that there was another reason for Skylar to do this.

He had changed beyond recognition.

"Do you have anything worthy of my love?"

Skylar arched his eyebrows.

Skylar's words astounded Coralie again. It was true after all. Coralie had nothing on her so how was she worthy of Skylar's love?

"I don't." Coralie shook her head and added, "I thought now that we had weathered so much together, we can finally stay with each other for the rest of our lives. I guess those delusions must have screwed me up."

"Fair enough, because you don't deserve it."

Skylar's sharp words pricked her heart.

The frost on Coralie's body had long melted. The water droplets slid along her windbreaker and trickled to the ground. She was obviously freezing, but it couldn't even compete with the coldness in her heart.

"Well, President Holland, you're right. I was just being pathetically over-sentimental all this time."

Coralie turned around and walked to the door, one foot in front of the other. At the moment when she turned around, she could no longer control her tears.

Skylar stared at her but he did not ask her to stay. He did not say a word too.

Coralie walked to the door and said without looking back, "Skylar, I love you. I will love you for the rest of my life. If you have to leave me for some reason, please come back when you are no longer troubled by it. Anytime is fine. I will always wait for you in the same place."

She did not turn back after saying that. Instead, she went straight to the elevator and left.

After the elevator door was closed.

"Bang!"

Skylar furiously smashed the keyboard in his hand in halves and swept the computer to the ground. Like a madman, he was hitting his legs violently.

Jayson quickly went over to stop him. "President Holland, I don't think Miss Chariott is that kind of person. You should tell her about the injury on your legs. What's more, you did it to save her."

Jayson replied briefly and didn't dare to say anything more.

They stayed for another hour before Jayson pushed the wheelchair out of the lounge and into the president's office. He helped Skylar up and sat him down on the wheelchair. The two went downstairs together.

It was still cold outside when Coralie came out of Skyton Corporation.

She couldn't even get a taxi on the road.

So she walked in the rain with her bag in her hand, her whole body soaked.

Jayson drove to Skylar's new residence. The road was frozen because of the freezing rain, and Jayson's car could only crawl at a slow pace under such conditions.

When they were on their way back, Skylar, who was sitting in the back seat, glimpsed a petite figure on the roadside. It was Coralie carrying her bag without an umbrella. She walked slowly in the cold rain, as if she had lost her soul.
