As soon as she heard that, Coralie immediately knew who had come even without turning her head.
The only people who could come to this restaurant and be addressed as 'President Zac' and 'Miss Rae' were none other than Jasper and Valerie.
Valerie held Jasper's arm and entered the dining room. When she looked up and saw Skylar sitting in front of her, the smile on her face instantly froze.
"Skylar, you're back? Have your legs already healed?"
Valerie only took a second to realize who it was before she quickly pulled herself away from Jasper and rushed to Skylar. Her tone was filled with worry.
A hint of dissatisfaction flashed across Jasper's eyes behind the pair of glasses.
However, Skylar didn't pay any attention to her. Instead, he slightly frowned and said, "I really should have booked the entire restaurant." After saying that, he looked at Coralie and said apologetically, "My wife, I'm sorry."
The word "wife" rang in Valerie's ears. It stung her heart.
Coralie nodded and smiled. "I'm fine."
Valerie was filled with jealousy as she looked at the affectionate couple who was completely ignoring her. She turned around and sat down at the table on the side without saying a word.
Jasper had been watching from the side. When he saw the unfamiliar jealousy and viciousness in Valerie's eyes, he was slightly stunned.
The Valerie he knew should be kind.
He had never seen such an expression on her face.
"Jasper, I'm sorry. I saw Skylar and got too excited just now."
Valerie saw Jasper's confused expression and knew that she had lost her composure just now. She quickly apologized to him.
Jasper saw that Valerie had reverted to her usual self and shook his head. "It's my fault for booking a table here."
"No, it's very nice here. It's beautiful. Thank you."
Valerie looked at Jasper sitting down and flashed him a beautiful smile.
Coralie glanced at Jasper. Technically speaking, Jasper was Coralie's brother. However, due to the status of both her and her mother, in addition to Valerie's presence, the both of them had never spoken to each other, and never would in the future.
The two tables were very close to one another.
Coralie, Skylar, Jasper, and Valerie sat in their respective seats. The four of them appeared to be very awkward to be seated in that manner.
The dishes on both tables hadn't been served yet.
Coralie didn't know what to say to Skylar. After all, Valerie was sitting next to her. If she wanted to talk about wedding rings, she was afraid that it would agitate Valerie.
However, Valerie had other ideas.
She sat opposite of Jasper and said, "Jasper, I intend to see your mother in the near future. I would love to talk to her."
As soon as this matter was mentioned, Jasper immediately turned to look at Coralie.
In his eyes, everything was Coralie's fault.
If Valerie's leg was fine, Amenda wouldn't have objected to them being together.
Valerie also saw Jasper looking at Coralie, and she went on to say, "Jasper, I know that you blame Coralie, but please, don't blame her. Even if it were to be repeated again, I would still save her, because she is the person whom Skylar loves. Isn't love supposed to be selfless?"
Every word she said made Coralie feel as if she was sitting on pins and needles in the restaurant.
In the incident that happened a few years ago, Coralie had always felt that something was strange. She even suspected that Valerie had directed and acted it out on her own. However, she had no evidence, which was why Valerie had always used this incident to threaten her.
When Jasper heard what Valerie said, he opened his mouth and said, "You helped them and lost a leg from doing so, but they don't appreciate it at all!"
After he spoke those words, Skylar and Coralie were at an obvious disadvantage.
Only then did Skylar turn his head to look at Jasper. "Tell your father, didn't he always want to take on that project at A City's Central Square? If he agrees to your marriage, I'll give him that project."
