Hazel had always thought that Valerie was the president's wife. She thought it was only a matter of time before Skylar broke up with her. She had waited for them to break up, and then she would make a move on him. However, she did not expect another woman to appear as the president's wife.

Lorraine felt the hostility but did not explain further. She put the cup on the table and left.
