A Naive Bride for the Sophisticated CEO novel Chapter 88

~After Five Years~

“Amelia!” Elena called as she pulled up the dazzling white wedding gown she wore.

“I’m coming! Can’t you stop making it so obvious that you’re nervous?! It’s your wedding day, not a horror show night.”

Amelia rushed out of the room to the living room where Elena and a few friend that were the bridal trains were waiting for her.

“I’m sorry for keeping you waiting. I had to make sure I got my makeup right since I insisted on doing it myself. I have been practicing for over three years for this day. To do my makeup myself!” She said proudly.

“And you didn’t disappoint me! You look absolutely stunning, sister.”

“Thank you! You look so beautiful too! I bet you’ll look even more beautiful when you walk down the aisle with our father today.” She answered with great excitement.

“Do you think he’ll make it? Do you think the judge would grant him a temporary release just to attend a wedding?”

“Don’t worry about it too much, Elena. We already talked, okay? They have been offered day-to-day temporary releases before today, it will go as planned.”

Elena let out a smiled and bounced her head.

“Let’s go get you married!” Amelia yelled and their friends all cheered.

Two of her friends lifted her ball wedding gown from behind and they all headed out of the house.

“Hold on! Where is my girl?!” Elena asked all of a sudden and took a pause.

“Oh God, Elena. You are really nervous. It’s so obvious. You already asked, and I told you she is with James. You know you prefer being with him than with me. You’ll meet her at the church.”

“I’m sorry. I am just too excited for today. I don’t think I’ll be myself when I finally see Drey in suits, standing in front of the priest. I never knew he would take me so seriously.”

“Well, here we are. Don’t think too much about it, okay? Just enjoy yourself.”

They all got into the highly decorated Rolls Royce car in front of the house. Elena sat at the back with Amelia, where the bridal train followed behind them in another car.

As they drove to the church, Amelia’s phone began to vibrate in her white feathery purse. She hastily opened it and pulled out her phone to see James calling.

She answered the phone almost immediately.

“Baby, where are you? It’s almost time for her to walk down the aisle. What’s keeping you waiting?” James asked in a whisper.

“We are in the car already, baby. We are on our way. Very close to the church already.”

“Okay. Make it snappy. Even Hopper and Freddie are here.”

“Freddie too?! They let him come too?”

“Well, I think that’s the case. Just hurry up. I’ll hang up now.”

They got to the church shortly after James hung up, and they all alighted.

As Amelia stepped out and also helped Elena out, Alice sighted her from where she stood in front of the church, holding hands with Susan.

“Mom! Aunt Elena!” Alice called out and yanked her hand off Susan’s. She ran down the stairs and ran into Amelia’s already opened arms.

“Wow! You know you can’t keep jumping on me like this. You’re now six years old. You are more weighty than you were when you were two.”

“But I’m still your child. I love jumping on you, so you’ll have to get used to it, Mom.”

Elena broke into laughter and brushed Alice’s already neatly combed her with her palm.

“This is why I can never stop loving you. I know I have no problems with teaching how to relate with people. Your mother was so bad at almost everything back then!”

“Hey, Elena! You promised not to tell her anything about the Amelia of that time.”

“Let’s go, Aunt Elena. We’ll talk better after the wedding. Now she has mentioned it, I want to know everything!” Alice uttered and pulled Elena by the hand.

They all walked up the stairs and stood in front of the large church door.

“Hi, Mom.” Elena and Amelia kissed Susan on her cheeks.

“It’s time for Alice to walk in with the flowers.” Susan gave the basket of flowers to Alice and stepped back.

“I’ll go and tell Hopper she is here already.” Amelia uttered and hurried into the church. She walked in silently, and tiptoed to where James and the other family members were.

She got to Hopper and whispered in his ears. “She is outside.”

Hopper looked at her and smiled faintly. He nodded and found his way out of the church, so he could walk her in.

Amelia’s eyes fell on Penelope as she walked to where James was. A faint smile lit up Penelope’s face, and Amelia responded with that same energy.
