A Vengeful Bride novel Chapter 50

Those security guards immediately stepped forward and took my mother away.

The strong smell of blood in the air hit my nose. I could only look at the blood in William Xiao's palm in a loss, but I couldn't say a word.

"William..." I felt that my throat was bitter, I couldn't help calling his name.

William bowed his head, and there was a trace of extreme tenderness in his gentle eyes. "I'm fine."

"Go to the hospital...." I held William's body and said stiffly.

"Okay."

Finally, we sent William to the hospital. William was pushed into the Emergency room, I was accompanied by Amy.

She put her arms around my shoulders and comforted me, "Ashley, don't worry, G.M. Xiao will be fine."

"But he bled so much." I looked at Amy's beautiful face in a loss and said in a bitter voice.

Hearing my words, Amy said in a low voice, "Don't worry. He will be fine."

Would he really be fine?

Amy added, "but your mother is really too cruel. The death of Eric has nothing to do with you. If I were you, I would make the same choice as you. When you were Mrs. Xi, your mother and they always asked for money from the Xis. Don't they remember that? Every time something goes wrong, they always asked you to deal with it. Eric did such a thing, he was supposed to be taught a lesson."

"But it's my fault. If I didn't stop William from giving her the money, maybe Eric wouldn't have died."

Looking at Amy's angry face, I said with a bitter smile.

I never thought about letting Eric die.

"Silly, it's not your fault. Ashley, you did nothing wrong. You shouldn't encourage the arrogance of them. You helped them every time something happened to Eric. What you have done is not a help but hurt them."

"They always know how to ask you for something. They have never thought about whether what they have done is right or wrong. Sooner or later, they will lead the road of doom."

I knew what Amy said was right, but Eric died because of me. Mother hated me, otherwise, she wouldn't have wanted to kill me with a knife, right?

Just as I was shivering, the door of the operating room was opened and William came out of the operating room.

I immediately got up and walked toward him. My lips trembled and I looked at his palm wrapped in gauze. I said hoarsely, "I'm sorry..."

I was really sorry. It was all my fault. If it weren't for me, William wouldn't... be injured.

"What are you talking about? It has nothing to do with you." William looked at me gently and shook his head gently.

"G.M. Xiao, take good care of Ashley. I'll go back first." Amy glanced at William and me and then said with a smile.

William just smiled gently and then looked at me.

"My hand may not be able to drive since it's injured. Let's go back by car. You may have to cook for me tonight."

"Okay." I looked at William and nodded gently.

"Don't think too much. This is not your fault, it's not anyone's fault. It's Eric's psychological quality that was not good enough when he encounters something, he just knew to run away." On the way, William knew that I had been thinking about Eric all the time. He reached out his hand, gently held my hand, and comforted me.

I looked at William and said with difficulty, "If I didn't stop you, he would not die."

"So, what about next time? How many times can you help Eric?" William tilted his head and asked with deep eyes.

William's words made me slightly nervous.

William was right. I could help Eric this time. Then next time if there is something wrong with him again, could I help him?

"Ashley, remember, it's not your fault." William sighed, gently held me in his arms.

I leaned into William's arms, sobbed, and finally let out all the grievances I had suffered. My mother never understood me. In her heart, I never could compare with Eric and Mark. I didn't know what made her dissatisfied.

I could change myself, really...

"Don't cry. I will feel sorry if you cry. It's not good for your eyes. Don't forget you have a baby in your belly."

William tried to comfort me.

I bit my lips, whimpered, and touched my belly gently.

Since my mother made a noisy disturbance in our company, many people looked at me with strange eyes. They seemed to be criticizing me for being cold-blooded, and they even thought I was a coldblooded animal because I didn't save my elder brother when he was forced to pay for his life.

I didn't try to explain to anybody and went to work until I saw Mark sitting at my door and smoking. His horrible face looked even more ferocious.

Seeing me, he put out his cigarette and walked toward me.
