With a cold face, I looked coldly at Edward and Betty who were thanking the guests.
When they walked to William and I, William took the red wine from the waiter and smiled to Edward, "Congratulations. You've got what you want. You lost Xi's Group but you got Fang's Group."
"Thank you." Edward glanced at William coldly and clinked glasses with him.
"Miss Mu, our wedding will be on the seventh day of next month. I hope that you can come."
There was a hint of pride in Betty's words, as if she was telling me that she was going to marry Edward and show off to me.
I picked up the red wine beside me indifferently and said to her with a smile, "Really? What a coincidence! William and I will get married on this day, too. I'm afraid that I can't attend your wedding."
My words made Betty and Edward stunned. Edward stared at me coldly. I looked fearlessly at him and looked back at William who was also stunned.
"William, it must be fate. Right?" William looked at me and said with gentle eyes, "Yes."
"Are you going to get married?" Betty looked at me incredulously and asked.
I ran my fingers through my hair, glanced at Betty and said indifferently, "Yes. We decided the wedding date last night. So I'm afraid that I won't have the opportunity to attend your wedding."
"Really? Congratulations." Betty gave me a strange look and clinked her glass with me.
I smiled hypocritically and said, "Same to you."
After drinking, some guests came to congratulate Edward and Betty.
I put on a cold face and pinched the glass in my hand. I squeezed it very hard as if I was going to crush the glass.
Until a warm hand covered my hand and gently held it.
"If you're really uncomfortable, let's go first." William's clear and low voice sounded in my ear.
I came back to sense, let go of the glass in my hand, and said lazily to him, "I am not uncomfortable. Let's go home. I have a headache."
I put down the cup and looked at Edward and Betty not far away. Covering the pain in my heart, I took William and left the banquet.
Few minutes ago, he was making love with me, but soon, he gave me a fatal blow. Edward, you were really good.
"Ashley." When I got back to the car, it was as if I had gone mad that I pressed William down on the seat and bit his lips.
He was shocked by my sudden action. He helplessly reached out his hands and hugged my waist.
I leaned against his arms and said painfully, "William, let's have sex." Was it so that I could completely forget Edward? I could completely cut off the bad relationship between me and Edward.
"Ashley, calm down!" Hearing this, William's handsome face was filled with a frightening coldness. Both of his hands forcefully grabbed my shoulders and his eyes were deep as he spoke to me.
I looked at his angry eyes in a daze. Then I sat up straight in his arms, rubbed my aching temples, and said with a bitter smile, "William, just think I am crazy."
I was really crazy... How could I say such words to William?
William lowered his face, raised my chin and kissed my lips, "If you really feel so uncomfortable, don't suppress it. If you are ready, I can love you. However, Ashley, you are not calm now."
He was right. I was not calm. I could never be able to deceive my heart.
"William, take me back. I think I really need to calm down." I took the initiative to kiss his clean and warm lips and said in a hoarse voice.
He nodded and approached my ear. In a soft voice, he said, "Ashley, you must remember that no matter when, I will be by your side to accompany you."
"Thank you." I gratefully looked at him and at the same time, my heart was filled with guilt.
I felt like I was using William to forget Edward.
When William took me away, I looked back at the Fang family. However, to my surprise, at the entrance, I saw Edward who stood there as a statue.
It was unknown how long he had been standing there and watching William and me.
The only thing I could see was that Edward's eyes were cold as he stared at me.
Being looked at by his cold eyes, I felt a little uncomfortable. At the same time, there was also some resentment in my heart.
Why should he look at me like that?
It was clear that the person who had abandoned me was him. Why should he look at me like that?
From that night on, I completely understood that Edward never changed..
