“You look breathtaking.”
Jerral lowered his head whispering against my ear. I couldn’t help but smile at his compliment. The moment he laid his eyes on me earlier, I saw the satisfied look in his eyes which made me realize that I’m really beautiful. How can I not be beautiful when he customized this dress for me? A beautiful tea length white dress with lilac floral patterns on it which has tie straps as well as fits my body very well. So how can I not look beautiful with this kind of amazing dress on my body?
“Thank you. I love this dress.”
I wrapped my hand around his strong arm. With my action, he glanced at me with warmth in his eyes. Whenever I see him looking at me like this, it really hurts me. I am aware of his feelings towards me but I pretend that I don’t know because I don’t have a heart for another man. This hurt me for real. Knowing that he wants to be with me and start a life with me. He doesn’t even care about the fact that Luan is not someone else’s child. He just treats my son as if he’s the real father and that is so painful.
“I love that you love it.”
He muttered with a smile and then opened the door of the car for me. Once I got in, he also got in before driving away. It took us some time to reach Alpha Kendrik’s mansion. I just can’t wait to see the bride tonight. I want to see what she looks like. I can be sure that she will be so beautiful and happy. “Let’s go in…” Jerral opened the door for me once again. I came out of the car snaking my hand around his arm as we walked into the mansion. Everything was decorated beautifully. I’m already impressed by these beautiful flowers everywhere.
“Are you interested?”
Jerral questioned me with a teasing smile. Of course I’m interested and curious. I didn’t wait to nod my head. Then he let out a chuckle and tucked a short piece of my hair behind my ear.
“As long as you are willing, I will give you a better wedding than this. I promise” his words had my heart flinched. I chewed my lower lip as my mind forcefully dragged me to the wedding I had three years ago. The most beautiful wedding along with the most beautiful dress. It was the wedding that every girl would dream for. I was lucky to have it but..
‘Don’t! Don’t think about it and cry!’ Before I could shed tears, my wolf hissed at me. Every time I thought about the past it hurt both me and my wolf. My wolf hates the pain because she was so done dealing with everything. She trusted her mate the most but her trust was broken by him with that rejection. Listening to her, I threw the thoughts of my past aside and focused on Jerral. I know he’s willing to marry me but how can I do it? He deserves much better than a single mother like me.
“Alpha Knet, so glad to see you. Thanks for accepting my invitation and coming for my daughter’s day” both of our attention fell on Alpha Kendrick. He was smiling brightly at us. I sighed in relief. It’s so good that the topic slipped away. I just don’t want to talk about that topic with Jerral.
“How can I not come for the wedding of my father’s best friend’s one and only daughter?” Jerral said with a kind smile. His words could easily satisfy Alpha Kendrick. After a while, we went to the hall where the wedding was happening. I really enjoyed seeing the beautiful fresh flowers everywhere.
“Give me a moment Emily, I’ll talk to the groom and come. Two minutes would be enough”
Oh… why did I forget that the groom is a good friend of Jerral? Once Jerral walked away, I paced near the red roses filled flower vase. My mind kept telling me to pull a flower out but I didn’t do it thinking it would be disrespectful towards the bride. I know that is unreasonable but I shouldn't do something like that. I will just get a flower after the wedding is over.
When my mind was busy thinking about flowers, a familiar scent caught me. A familiar scent which made my wolf whimper. Not only my wolf but also my heart began to whimper. The heartbeat began to thump and my body completely froze. This scnet… how can I ever forget? I felt my eyes getting moist and my hands trembling.
How… how come… he’s here? I clutched the skirt of my dress wanting to run away from this place as soon as possible but I found I had no strength for it. The heart pain I experienced years ago is back in me and my legs have gone completely weak. But I managed to turn and looked at the man who had the same stunned expression on his face while his eyes traveled all over me.
‘Breath… breath… breath….’
