"Frey, since you're out, stop looking at your phone all the time. Come on, cheers."
A female colleague was outspoken enough to share some interesting stories that had taken place at the research institute.
Freya put down her phone and immersed herself in the atmosphere with the intention of learning more things.
Everyone chatted until 10:00 p.m. before they went back to their hostel.
Freya had drunk five to six bottles of beer, so she was quite drunk.
When she answered the video call from Ryan, she was still a little tipsy. "I'm sorry. I was too immersed in the conversation with my colleagues tonight, and I drank quite a lot. Is Dani asleep?"
"Yes, she is."
Ryan stared at the woman on his phone. Her enchanting, long hair was spread on the bed, and her face was red from drinking. How beautiful! Moreover, her pretty, big eyes were blurry from the alcohol. That charming look of her could make any man step out of line.
His handsome face darkened, and his tone was cold. "S o you do still remember Dani."
Freya was caught off guard. Although she had drunk a lot, she was not completely drunk. However, being in this state made her even more agitated, and she blurted out the first thing that came to her mind." What are you trying to say? How can I possibly forget Dani?"
"If you remember her, why did you drink so much and only return home at this hour?" A look of reproach was revealed in Ryan's eyes.
He had never once lectured Freya. As such, Freya instantly flew into a fury. "It’s only 10 p.m. When I left, the rest were still drinking. To many, now is only the beginning of the night. Besides, do you think I wanted to drink so much? I did it for the sake of strengthening my relationship with them. By talking more to them, I can learn more things."
"Learning comes second. Your safety matters most. Understand?"
