“Chester, you ungrateful b*stard. You’ll die a miserable death.”
Madam Jewell’s scolding came from behind. “If something happens to your dad, I don’t want to live too.”
Charity studied the raging woman behind through the rearview mirror.
The saying, what comes around goes around, was true.
Madam Jewell used to act haughtily in front of Charity as if no one could deserve her son, but now, it was… hard to explain.
“Do you want to get someone to keep an eye on her? What if she really–”
“Ha! Don’t worry. Among the people I know, she fears death the most.” Chester snorted. “If she isn’t scared of dying, why would she treat Cindy so dearly? She even forced me to marry Cindy and support Cindy’s career to keep her blood donor by her side back then. She has committed so many evil deeds. If not for her illness, I wouldn’t tolerate this anymore.”
Chester had exhausted all the patience he had toward his mother.
Charity pressed her lips together. Although she had experienced many hardships, her mothers had been kind to her. After some time, she said, “Your parents have a good relationship, though.”
“You’re right about that.” Chester laughed. “They were childhood sweethearts, so they are close and get along well. They also have similar tastes and often are each other’s partner in crime.”
Charity was speechless.
She was humored by his description but did not laugh.
