Bride Behind the Mask novel Chapter 221

The moment Robert divulged Frederick's loss of smell to her, Marguerite knew this was a critical secret.

After all, as the president of a perfume company, Frederick had personally been involved in fragrance development in recent years. If it were to be known that he had lost his sense of smell, his credibility would be shattered in front of their customers.

LuxeScents International would be plunged into a crisis of trust.

Such a revelation must remain a secret.

But then, how could Steven, who was entirely outside the perfume industry, know of this?

Marguerite couldn't help but tense up, her eyes widening in shock, scrutinizing him as if trying to see through to the truth.

Steven, however, didn't display the panic she expected. His gaze was calm, his expression indifferent.

Marguerite could discern nothing from his demeanor.

After a prolonged stare, Steven lightly touched his nose and chuckled.

"You know, I attend almost every high society party in town. You hear a lot of gossip. Naturally, you learn things."

It was an answer that held up under scrutiny.

Marguerite recalled Steven mentioning that these upscale parties usually had a few doctors on hand in case of emergencies.

So, he must have heard this news at one of those events?

Marguerite mused over this, forcing a strained smile and replying, "Steven, not all gossip should be believed."

Steven remained unperturbed. "Marguerite, I have studied psychology, and have established several psychology clinics go abroad."
