Bride Behind the Mask novel Chapter 637

At Thunderbolt Enterprises, the evening had settled in with the soft glow of the city lights leaking through the windows. Marguerite had left for the factory early in the morning from Poppy Petal Fragrances, leaving Frederick to dive back into the corporate whirlwind that awaited him at the headquarters.

After wrapping up a marathon four-hour international conference call, darkness had already cloaked the sky. Chuck, his reliable assistant, was tidying up the chaotic pile of documents on Frederick's desk. There was still a short video conference on the agenda, and Chuck was racing against time to set it up.

Suddenly, the classic rock station on the radio was interrupted with a breaking news alert.

[A severe winter storm warning is in effect for Stonebridge City, with heavy snowfall, ice, and plummeting temperatures expected to hit within the next hour. The outskirts are projected to be the hardest hit, with temperatures expected to reach record lows not seen in over a decade...]

Chuck paused mid-sort, glancing over at Frederick with concern. "Mr. Winston, should we postpone the video call? The blizzard's going to hit soon and if we don't head out now, we're going to be stuck here for hours trying to get home."

Frederick, rubbing his temples wearily, replied without hesitation, "No need."

Chuck nodded in agreement, "Right, the news mentioned the outskirts getting the brunt of it. We're in the city center; the blizzard probably won't even touch us here."

The outskirts...

Suddenly, Frederick's attention snapped to the window as the first delicate snowflakes began to dance against the glass. His eyes narrowed with concern.

"Get the factory on the line."

"The factory?"

It took Chuck a moment to remember the new product development project at Poppy Petal Fragrances that both Marguerite and Mr. Winston were overseeing.
