Bride Behind the Mask novel Chapter 638

After a grueling day that had left her brain in a fog, Marguerite's senses snapped to attention when she heard the panicked edge in Zack's voice.

"Don't worry, Zack. I'm on my way!"

She ended the call in a rush, dashed down to the garage, jumped into the first sedan she found, and floored it toward the factory.

A blizzard raged outside, turning what should have been an hour's drive into a two-hour white-knuckle ordeal.

Upon arrival, Marguerite found the factory besieged by fire trucks, their hoses unleashing torrents of water as flames danced menacingly into the night sky—a sight both magnificent and horrifying.

Zack, shivering and disheveled, scrambled toward her. "Ms. Lockwood! It's a disaster! Our entire stock is toast! President Penelope and Mr. Fitzgerald were here, fuming! They're demanding accountability from our plant! Ms. Lockwood, I can't afford this!"

"President Penelope and Mr. Fitzgerald?" Marguerite paused, "Penelope was here?"

"Penelope? I don't know any Penelope! It's the CEO of Poppy Petal Fragrances, Hackett, and his wife!"

Hackett and Penelope! Marguerite scanned the chaos but saw no sign of them, her anxiety spiking. "Where are they?"

"They went in after the fire!"

Marguerite's mind buzzed with alarm.
