Bride Behind the Mask novel Chapter 683

Wife? Daphne?

Marguerite was floored. These titles coming her way were like curveballs she just couldn't catch.

She stood frozen, staring at the woman in front of her, her brain a blank slate.

"Who... who are you?"

The woman's face, beaming with a smile, was as perfect as a glamorous Barbie doll.

As if prepared, she pulled out a cream-colored card from her purse and handed it to Marguerite.

It was a marriage certificate from abroad.

"Maurice's" signature was unmistakably clear, and alongside it, the name Daphne.

Marguerite couldn't wrap her head around it. Daphne, however, seemed quite amused. "We've been married for five years and haven't divorced yet."

Daphne's observation of Marguerite's reaction told her all she needed to know; Marguerite was clearly unaware of her existence.

With a coy smile, Daphne suggested, "Shall we step outside for a chat?"

Marguerite was at a loss for words, but she nodded, and side-by-side, they walked to the nearby garden.

Marguerite clutched the marriage certificate between her fingers, its official seal and unique code clearly not a forgery.

What was more disturbing was recognizing Maurice's handwriting.

So, this woman named Daphne was indeed Maurice's wife.

Marguerite felt an indescribable mix of emotions. She placed the marriage certificate on a bench nearby and looked up at Daphne, asking, "If you've been married for five years, where were you three years ago?"
