Bride Behind the Mask novel Chapter 682

Maggie stood at the top of the staircase, leaning over the railing to peer down into the dimly lit foyer below. The sheer amount of information she had just overheard left her stunned and momentarily speechless.

What had they been talking about? This woman claimed to have been living with Maurice for years? Good grief! This was like something out of a soap opera!

You had to hand it to Maurice; the guy was meticulous and left no loose ends. For three whole years, Maggie hadn’t had the faintest inkling about this mysterious woman’s existence. Maurice could truly be seen as the epitome of deceit, always keeping up appearances of a devoted partner while juggling his affairs. Maggie could only marvel at his audacity. She couldn’t care less about his other women; her focus was solely on the wafer technology!

If she could uncover more secrets, it would undoubtedly be a huge help to Frederick.

Maggie bit her lip to stifle any sound, her attention snapping back as Maurice’s voice, tinged with irritation, filled the space again.

“I’m not here for a trip down memory lane. I want information!”

The woman, unfazed, lazily hooked a finger around his tie, playing with it as she spoke.

“I’ll give you what you want. But if you play with fire and get burned, don’t drag me down with you.”

“Talk.”

“25 Cheshire Avenue, the hacker’s hideout. Remember, Maurice, I’m the only one who’d go this far for you.”

In the shadows, Maggie watched the woman boldly lean into Maurice, tilting her head up as if seeking a kiss. Before Maggie could see if Maurice responded, her phone vibrated violently in her pocket. Her heart nearly leaped out of her throat as she hastily silenced it and peered back down.
