As soon as Violet spilled the beans, Marguerite's confusion deepened.
"Didn't Stella come to the office today for her counseling session? I thought she mentioned making a house call yesterday?"
"Yeah, she showed up this morning, and I even went downstairs to greet her. But, turns out, she didn't come for the counseling. She had someone bring in loads of gadgets instead. Linda told me Stella was sticking all these patches on Ms. Lockwood's forehead, like she was checking if there was something wrong with her brain."
"Something wrong with her brain? What does that even mean? Since when does a therapist handle that?"
Violet nodded vigorously, her eyes wide and sparkling as she tried to hold back a laugh before explaining:
"That's more like a job for a neurologist! But who knows where Stella got all that equipment from, it's like she borrowed it from a hospital or something. And Ms. Lockwood, bless her, had no clue about any of it and just let Stella do her thing. Linda was just telling me, the reason Stella's doing all this is because she suspects Ms. Lockwood... might have a mental illness. Pfft—"
Marguerite: "..."
"Marguerite, you should have seen Ms. Lockwood's face when she heard Stella suspected her of having a mental illness. She turned as green as a Granny Smith apple!"
Violet couldn't hold her laughter any longer, bursting into giggles so intense her sides started to ache.
Marguerite's eyes widened in disbelief, but deep down, she felt a refreshing sense of relief. That Stella sure was a character, hitting Yuna right where it hurts with today's antics. She must be fuming right now.
