Bride Behind the Mask novel Chapter 704

Violet's blunt words had even Marguerite gasping for air.

Just a few days ago, Violet had tried to suggest that Penelope’s car accident was no accident at all, and that Yuna seemed unusually terror-stricken anytime her hallucinations came on...

Marguerite knew exactly what Violet was hinting at, but she chose to deny it.

Firstly, Marguerite had too much faith in human nature. She couldn’t believe that Yuna, despite her rebellious ways, could ever harm her own mother.

Secondly, Marguerite feared that if Yuna overheard Violet’s accusations, it would only lead to more trouble.

But today, Violet brought it up again, this time right in front of Yuna, with even more conviction and clarity.

Probably fearing her impending dismissal, Violet let the accusations slip in a moment of resentment.

Marguerite quickly shot Violet a warning glance, signaling her to say no more.

Reluctantly, Violet clamped her mouth shut, but Yuna was far from calm.

She turned as pale as a ghost, her eyes darting around in alarm, and she grabbed Violet, demanding:

“What do you mean by ‘guilty conscience’? What are you insinuating, Violet?”

Yuna’s outburst left Violet petrified, her fear palpable as she struggled to respond.

“I didn’t mean anything, Ms. Lockwood! You’ve got it all wrong!”

Yuna, however, was beyond listening. She stormed over to Marguerite, fury and humiliation fueling her as she grabbed Marguerite by the throat:

“Marguerite! What exactly have you been telling Violet?”

Marguerite, gasping for air, managed to choke out, “I... What could I possibly say?”

In the struggle, Marguerite found herself pushed onto the couch, with Yuna now on top of her.
