Bride Behind the Mask novel Chapter 734

Marguerite's cheeks flushed a deep shade of crimson that spread like wildfire to her ears, painting her face with embarrassment.

She sneaked a glance at Sandra, then frenziedly made eye contact with the man across from her.

To her surprise, the man's gaze was calm and composed, his eyes deep and unfathomable, hiding a smile that seemed as endless as a bottomless lake.

Marguerite was tongue-tied, her words jumbled and incomplete:

"This... this is a misunderstanding..."

"A misunderstanding? Margie, darling, you've even packed these little pills in a fancy box. Looks like you came well-prepared!"

Sandra winked at Marguerite.

Feeling deflated, Marguerite fiddled with her plate of plain rice, wishing she could just bury her head under the table.

Ian, however, was utterly confused and turned to Sandra:

"My lady? Aphrodisiacs? What are those?"

Sandra chuckled thoughtfully before glancing at Marguerite:

"I'd rather not explain. It's something... to help with having babies!"

"Having babies?" Ian laughed as well, but his laughter was directed at Frederick, "Frederick, man, needing pills to have kids? That's not good!"

Marguerite couldn't hold back any longer and burst out laughing, rice spitting from her mouth.

This was a disaster!

There were many things one could say, but questioning a man's virility was off-limits!

Frederick must be furious, right?

Marguerite instinctively looked at Frederick, only to find him suppressing a smile, seemingly in good spirits as he lit a cigar and took a puff.

With his other hand, he gently rubbed Marguerite's back and asked in a low voice:

"Is this the reason you crossed the ocean to find me?"

Marguerite's face turned from pale to flush, shy like a bud yet to bloom.

"Not at all! I have something very important to discuss with you."

"Oh? I'm all ears."

Marguerite blinked, wanting to discuss Hayes and Teresa's situation.

But the current atmosphere was too strange, clearly not the right time for such discussions.
