"Look familiar to you?"
"I can't quite place it, but he definitely has that ‘I've seen him somewhere’ vibe. Probably a Hollywood star or something..."
"Yeah, right, as if a celebrity would be caught dead grocery shopping. But just by the look of those eyes, you can tell he's a heartthrob. His wife, though, I don't think she matches his league."
"I agree. She's got this girl-next-door vibe, but she's so petite! Standing next to him, she looks like a little kid."
Marguerite was beyond words.
She had a pretty good idea who the bystanders thought Silas resembled.
Back when Frederick was still around, she and he had been the talk of the town, their faces plastered across tabloids more times than they could count.
Miley even joked once that together, they pulled in more attention than any A-list celebrity duo.
No wonder strangers thought Silas had the same allure as Frederick. Marguerite couldn't help but feel a sense of déjà vu around him.
But she was grateful, at least, that no one recognized her.
People always noticed a handsome man first, after all.
She was puzzled, though.
Despite the formal distance she kept from Silas while shopping, how could anyone mistake them for a couple?
Were they really that compatible?
Marguerite wore a poker face, but Silas chuckled, leaving her bewildered.
"What's so funny?"
He explained, "Just the part where they said you're not good enough for me."
Marguerite was fuming, "Maybe you should take off your mask and let everyone decide who's not worthy of whom."
Silas shrugged, indifferent, "Does it matter? We're not together anyway."
His logic was sound, but Marguerite felt an inexplicable pang of sadness.
