A talking dog-like animal. Great! Just great! Just when she thought her life won't get any worse.
How on earth did it learn to talk? Could it be a human in a Halloween suit?
No. It looked too real. Way too real.
“I'm waiting for you. Come on, I haven't had breakfast yet” Dakar said and she gasped and moved back with her butt on the ground
“No wait... I didn't mean I would have you for breakfast. I just meant, I wanted breakfast. I don't skip my breakfast. I don't eat humans. I eat fruits and vegetables and sometimes fish and meat. But I'm going to eat omelette and bread today. Care to join me? You look hungry”
He began to walk towards her and she screamed and kicked her legs as if it could send him away
“Get away from me you dog! Get away!” she screamed
“Ahh... First impression they say, matters a lot. I guess my first impression on you was a vicious monster who would rip your heart out and chew it raw” he said and paused to see her reaction. And of course, her level of fear was out of this world.
“But I already told you. I'm not gonna do that. I'm a good guy. The bad guy is Derek and he seems to like you. He even killed a snake that was going to bite you while you were asleep”
“What? A snake?” she asked. She was so scared of snakes and freaks out when she sees even a dead one
“I have lots to tell you. Just come with me. Please I'm starving”
Avril looked at the huge animal. It was like a big motorcycle in height; when standing on all fours. It was as wide as a sofa and its fur was grey and thick. The eyes were presently green though they had been red the previous day. The teeth was just like a lion's, which instilled fear in her whenever it spoke.
“Are you sure you won't kill me? Or hurt me?” she asked
It stood erect and placed its supposed hands across its chest
“I promise. Cross my heart and hope to die”
Avril nodded and grabbed her basket. She got on her feet and began to walk gently towards it. She was very scared but decided to follow the animal. What ever was going to happen to her, was definitely bound to happen.
The creature crouched down and Avril took a guess that it wanted her to sit on it. She gently sat on it and it rose up.
“Grab on to my fur. I love running fast and rough”
Avril sunk her hand into his fur and found out it was very long, not just think. She easily held onto it and was stable. The basket was also very stable in her hand.
“Oh, for the record. I'm not a dog. I'm a wolf!” and with that, it took off in a very great speed that took Avril off-guard. She screamed and almost lost her balance but immediately readjusted herself.
Dakar, as he had called himself, raced fast, past trees and jumping over logs and rocks. He was super fast. Avril thought she was on a horse. The way he dodged obstacles was amazing. He was like the wind as he ran through the woods. He dashed out of the woods suddenly, unto the beach and dug deep footprints in the white sand as he ran.
Avril's eyes teared up. The speed and the wind was just too much for her eyes to take. She however, enjoyed it. If not that she had to hold onto his fur, she would have raised her two hands in the air and shout ‘HEEEHUUU’.
After riding for a few minutes on the sand, Dakar entered into the woods again. This time he slowed down and didn't run like before.
Avril looked up and saw a hill ahead. It was tall and short grasses grew on it. It came into a clearer view and a wooden house showed beside it. It was very big and looked strong, despite the sticks being tied to each other.
As the wolf walked on, the house came into a much clearer view
It wasn't a full house, it was just the entrance. A serious of strong sticks bound together by ropes like that of a tree house. It created a rectangular frame and a triangular one at the top
