A vast green land with beautiful plants and trees arranged neatly and in order. A large waterfall was in sight and there was a beautiful flowing river beneath it. The river had different branches with huge and small rocks around it.
Birds flew about, beautifying the atmosphere with their colourful feathers and singing too.
Avril was sure there were lots more to see but the place they stood wasn't high enough to show the whole view. She however, loved the little she already saw.
“Swing down with this. It's fun” he said and tugged on another rope.
“How many ropes do you have here?” she asked in a very low mutter. Even her shadow wouldn't hear her voice.
“Actually, I have six. Three at the entrance and three here. One of the three is for emergency situations” Dakar stated
“What?” she asked in surprise. Had he heard her?
“You asked how many ropes I had” he replied with a shrug of his shoulders. He was sitting with his legs/hind limbs on the ground and his hands standing erect in front, just like a dog.
“You heard what I said?” she asked
“Yeah. What? Was I not supposed to hear it?”
“But, I could hardly even hear myself. How did you then hear me”
“I can hear birds chirping from miles away. Talk more of a mutter five steps away”
Avril gasped and blinked her lashes repeatedly
“Swing down” Dakar said and pointed at another rope in front of her . He held his and swung down immediately. It looked fun so Avril held the rope tight and clutched unto her basket. She moved back a little and jerked off the ground, into the air and a scream escaped her lips. It looked easy when Dakar did it. But she couldn't breathe and her hair was flying all over her face. Plus the hollow she felt was forming in her lower abdomen. She almost let go of the rope but her legs touched the ground. She staggered and fell on her tummy.
Dakar lowered his head and sniffed her hair. She ran up and stood few feet away from him. She was still very scared of him and didn't want to stay too close to him.
“This way” he said and began to walk forward. Avril followed behind him and uses the opportunity to look around her. It was so beautiful and noisy. Noise from singing birds, flowing water, crickets chirping, and branches moving vigorously in the wind The kind of noise she liked. The perfect place to read a novel while eating cupcakes and orange juice.
They passed by a stream which was one of the river outlets and the same one she had seen outside, by the hill. She stooped down and dipped her hand in it. It was cold and refreshing. Gave her body energy. She stood up and continued to follow the wolf.
They reached another outlet and beautiful white ducks were paddling in it. There were also little ducklings amongst them and Avril thought they were the cutest thing she had ever seen.
Avril marveled at the waterfall right in front of her. She had never seen one except in pictures and videos. She loved the noise and how the water seemed to be moving down rhythmically. She loved the pure white look of it and really wanted to stand under it and let her skin and hair get beaten by the strong pours.
She had stopped walking and just staring at the waterfall, completely mesmerized by the nature of it. Dakar had sensed she had stopped following and whirled around to find out why.
He saw the look in her eyes. It reflected a feeling of peace and love. Ever since she woke up on the island, he had only scented fear and anxiety around her. She was only at peace when she slept.
For her to suddenly be at peace meant she loved what she was staring at. She loved the waterfall
But what's so special about a waterfall?
Suddenly, her countenance fell and her peaceful aura bounced back to anxiety. Dakar didn't like that so he moved closer to her. She didn't appear to know he was in such close proximity or she would freak out.
