Lia was speechless. "What are you billing him for? Look at how stingy you are. I don't care. I'll still eat them!"
After the commotion, Bella began to feel tired. "I'm going to rest. Dominic, if you're busy, you can go."
Dominic helped her into the bedroom. "I'm not busy. I'll stay with you for a while."
Something about his tone felt off to her. She whispered, "You don't have to stay just for me…"
He corrected her seriously, "I'm staying for the child. There's no reason for you to feel uneasy."
She mentally rolled her eyes, annoyed. "I can't sleep with you watching me."
"Who says I want to watch you? You're not much to look at anyway," he answered, amused yet sarcastic.
Bella gritted her teeth. "Then you'd better hope we don't have a son because sons usually take after their moms."
Dominic pondered momentarily before responding, "Let's have a girl. She can take after me."
Bella tossed and turned for a while, unable to fall asleep. Meanwhile, Dominic sat on the side of the bed, casually checking his phone for work.
Upon noticing her restlessness, he asked, "Are you a fish? What's with all the tossing around?"
Bella gathered her courage and kicked him in the side. "You're the fish! I can't sleep with you sitting there."
Without wasting a beat, he turned off his phone and lay beside her. "How about now?"
After a brief moment of eye contact, she moved away slightly. "Aren't you busy? You don't have to stay and watch me sleep."
