Lia shook her head in disbelief. She said, "I-I'm just an ordinary woman who can't even have children. There's nothing special about me either. Is Leonard blind? Why is he making my life so difficult?
"Bella, I really do like Zion. It was like love at first sight for me, do you understand me? I've never felt such feelings for anyone else. It's really different this time!"
Bella fell silent. Perhaps she did not understand what love at first sight felt like, but she did understand what it felt like to have her heart skip a beat whenever she saw the person she loved.
She probably had such feelings whenever she saw Dominic.
The seriousness and determination Lia had on her face when she spoke about Zion was something Bella had never seen in her friend before.
After a while, Bella tried to persuade her by saying, "Zion is probably related to Leonard's mother. It's obvious that they don't have a good relationship either. Lia, I suggest you don't get involved in that mess."
Lia pulled on her hair in anguish. "But I really do like Zion. I don't think he can be that bad, considering he's someone my dad had chosen. His family background is also similar to that of the Sawyers. I won't break up with him. So, I guess I'll have a proper chat with Leonard instead."
It was clear that she was determined to be with Zion. She had no intentions of hiding or avoiding the issue at hand, and she even wanted to take the initiative to talk to Leonard.
Lia had no intention of dragging Bella into her mess. So, after getting his address, she headed over to Leonard's villa early the next day.
Leonard had been getting ready to head out when Lia arrived. He hadn't worn his tie, so he looked much more relaxed and casual compared to usual.
He seemed to have known why Lia was here, so his attitude toward her was very cold. "I need to head over to the company."
Lia pursed her lips. "It'll just take five minutes, considering this might be the last time we see each other."
Leonard's body tensed as he closed the door. He headed over to the couch in the living room, and took a seat. "You can say what you want now."
