Every Breath You Take novel Chapter 81

Quarmy parked the car at the door, and Jenny's car also arrived at the door.

The mother and son went into the villa with a gloomy face. The servant was shocked when she saw Jenny. "What happened?"

Jenny didn't answer and threw the bag on the sofa. "Let's talk!"

"Okay!" Quarmy sat on the sofa. He looked at Jenny coldly. "What do you want to say?"

Looking at his indifferent look, Jenny was angry. "Quarmy, how can you be so cold-blooded? I'm your mother and I was bullied by that woman. Look at how arrogant she is!"

"That's your own fault!" Quarmy sneered. "As a well-educated person, how can you interfere with her dinner in public, and even attack her in front of her child? Monica already showed her mercy!"

"How can you talk to me like this?" Jenny shouted angrily, "Your father died early, so I had to manage the company and took care of you. Is it easy for me to take care of you for so many years?"

"Since I was sensible, you've been talking about it for thousands of times. Mom, aren't you tired?" Quarmy asked. "What single mom doesn't have a hard time? Compared with others, at least you have a company left by Dad. You have enough property, so you won't be homeless. You have never had to worry about living, but others are not so lucky." Quarmy said it on purpose. Thinking of Monica's life, he felt very uncomfortable. If his mother hadn't been tying him down with filial piety, he and Monica wouldn't have become strangers.

He wouldn't have blamed himself like this, and wouldn't have suffered. They would have had children of their own and a happy life.

Thinking of these things, his anger burst out like a volcano. "It's said that maternal love is selfless and never asked for returns. Why have I never felt this? Since I can remember, you have tied me up with morality. You even threatened me with your life. The other mothers want their sons to be happy, but what about you? You only care about the company, power and wealth. I always want to ask you, am I really your own son?"

"Quarmy, what do you mean? What happened?" Jenny looked at her son as if she didn't know him.

"I just want to ask you, why do you torture me like this?" Quarmy's eyes were red with blood. "I would rather you throw me away to marry another man than to tie me up with filial piety. I would rather live in the orphanage than live a life that is worse than death!"

Quarmy's words made Jenny's eyes directly round. How could a son say those to his mother? "You disobedient bastard..."

Before she finished her words, Quarmy interrupted her immediately, "Disobedient? If so, how would I allow you to endlessly abuse my beloved woman? How would I drive her out of the house, and let her have nothing to leave? You have been tying me up for decades with filial piety, aren't you tired?" "How... how can you say that to me?" Jenny trembled with anger. Her son had been listening to her for so many years that she had never checked her words and deeds. She always thought that what she had done was for her son's good. Now she suddenly heard that, how could she stand it?

She finally knew her son was defending Monica. "How dare you get angry at me for that woman? What the hell did she do to make you hate me?" Jenny shouted, "If she hadn't gone against me, would I have done that to her?"

"She went against you? Now you still think so. Do you think I'm blind?" Quarmy was extremely disappointed with his mother. "Since Monica married me, you'd rejected and picked on her. She put up with everything for me, but you'd just made it worse by humiliating her and torturing her. Mom, you're also a woman. Why can't you think for her?"

"Didn't I think for her? She couldn't get pregnant so I took her around to seek medical advice. I'd never given up on her in the five years you'd been married. If it weren't for her cheating and her vicious methods of pushing Madrigal to lose her baby, would I do this to her?"

Quarmy's heart was filled with anger when he saw his mother's stubborn look. "With an evil mother-in-law like you around, no wonder she couldn't have a baby! Didn't you always say Monica was sterile? How does it feel to see a beautiful child beside her?"

Jenny couldn't say a word at once.

"Mom, don't you have anything to say?" Quarmy looked at his mother sarcastically. "I..." Jenny had nothing else to say.

"Do you want to know what kind of life Monica had been through after being driven out by me? I'm telling you, she was forced to marry another man after being driven out by me, a ruthless billionaire. She doesn't love that man at all, but she had to marry him for livelihood."

"I didn't force her. I just asked you to divorce. I didn't say that I wouldn't give her money." Jenny retorted.

"Yes, it's my idea not to give her money, but do you know why I'm so cruel?" Quarmy said fiercely, "I was forced by you! You forced me and Monica to divorce with your life, but I really didn't want to! I couldn't let you die, so I asked the lawyer to draft such an agreement. I just wanted to force her to refuse the harsh conditions. But she was desperate! She signed it without saying anything. In order to force her back, I tried every means to make her unemployed. Unexpectedly, she never came back!"

Quarmy yelled at Jenny, but he didn't feel comfortable. He was depressed and said, "In order to survive, she chose to marry. But when she was about to marry, her husband died. Her son was born without a father. These years, she took her child to run around and suffered a lot. She shouldn't have suffered these things if she hadn't married a coward like me. She lived in sufferings because her ex-husband is a cold-blooded and ruthless man. Do you understand?"

Jenny naturally did not understand. "Since things have already happened, why don't you give her some money?" Hearing her indifferent words, Quarmy punched on the tea table in front of her. "Is this a problem of money?!"

"So what do you want? She's married and has a child. What's done is done. What else can we do except for giving her money?"

"I've come up with a best solution. I want to marry her again and treat her child as my own child!"

"Are you crazy?" Jenny jumped up.

"I'm not crazy. This is the result of my careful consideration during this period of time."

"No! I will never let you do this!" Jenny was anxious. "Quarmy, there are a lot of ways to make it up for her. You don't have to marry her. You and Madrigal have already set the date of engagement. Everything is ready. If you marry Monica, what about Madrigal?"

"You can compensate her with money!" Quarmy replied coldly.

Wasn't this what she just said to him? He immediately said it back to her. Jenny was upset. "Quarmy, Madrigal is an innocent girl. It's really not easy for her to do all those things for you. You have to think for her."

"Who will take Monica into consideration?" Quarmy retorted, "Madrigal's matter is all because of you, you go to settle it yourself. I am going to take Monica back now. No one can stop me!"

"If you do this, I'll go die!" Jenny threatened.

"Mom, don't you feel sick of saying it every day?" Quarmy looked at Jenny and said, "It's enough to use the same method once. It's annoying to use it again and again."

"You..." Jenny didn't expect that his son would say such ruthless words, she was helpless.

"I remember you once told me you would have no face to see my father without a grandchild. I don't have a child now, do I? Mom, you won't die!" Quarmy sneered.

Jenny's face turned red, but she couldn't say anything. Quarmy turned around and went upstairs. After a few steps, he turned back and said, "I won't be at anyone's disposal this time. I'll make the decision for my whole life!"

Yale accompanied Zoe to a party. Madrigal was alone at home, she felt very lonely. She went back to her room after watching TV for a while in the living room and felt bored.

She didn't know why, but she always felt a little uneasy. Was there anything wrong?

Just as she was thinking about it, the phone rang. She picked it up and heard a low female voice. "Miss Jane, it's me."

"Aunt Liu?" Hearing the voice of Quarmy's servant, Madrigal had a bad feeling.

"Madam and Mr. Huo just had a big fight."

"Why?"

"Because of Monica. Mrs Huo knows she has a son..." The servant told her the contents of the quarrel. The more Madrigal listened, the more frightened she became.

After the report, the servant hung up the phone in a hurry. Madrigal was in a state of stupefaction. What should she do? What should she do?

"Why hasn't my mother come back yet?" She picked up her mobile phone to call Yale. The phone rang twice and was hung up. Madrigal couldn't sit still any longer. She hurriedly opened the door and went downstairs, only to hear the sound of a car. She heard that her mother and father came back.

Yale came in with Zoe with a smile. Madrigal knew that the party must be very successful.

Madrigal calmed herself and came forward. "Mom, I bought a set of clothes. Would you like to see it?"

Yale nodded and said, "You go up first. I'll make your dad a cup of tea first."

"Go ahead. I'll ask Lancy to make tea." Zoe was in a good mood.

"I'll do it. I'm afraid that you won't be used to it if Lancy makes it." As Yale said this, she went to make tea for Zoe immediately. Madrigal was so anxious that she didn't dare to show it out, so she had to go upstairs.

A few minutes later, Yale entered Madrigal's room. "Did you hear any bad news?"

Madrigal nodded and told Yale what the servant said. "Mom is really smart to leave keep such a woman by Jenny's side. Otherwise, we won't know anything now."

"That's why you have to keep your options open. When I asked Lassie to stay, you didn't agree."

"I was afraid that she would cause trouble. She knew what we did to Monica. If she accidentally exposed herself, what should we do?" Madrigal replied. The medicine that Monica had taken was all made by Lassie. She could do such a vicious thing so she must be a ruthless person. So after the matter was over, she wanted Lassie to get away with money. But Yale disagreed and said that Lassie was still useful. Now it seemed that Yale was right.

"How are you going to do things in the future if you're only halfway there and then kick out the useful person? Before you officially become Mrs. Huo, Lassie can't leave. What's more, I took advantage of Lassie because of her son. She has something on me, so she can't make a big trouble." Yale snorted.

"Mom, you'd better think of a way to stop Quarmy's marriage with Monica. I'm so anxious."

"As long as you can make sure that the child is not Quarmy, nothing will happen." Yale was not too worried.

"The child is definitely not Quarmy's. If it was Quarmy's, Jenny wouldn't have quarreled with Quarmy. She would have been happy since she wants a grandchild so badly." Madrigal was now only worried that Jenny could not stop Quarmy. "Lassie said that Jenny could no longer threaten Quarmy even with life."

"I've said that Quarmy was not a fool, and he wouldn't allow Jenny to control him. Everything will be fine if the child is not his." Yale sneered.

"Have you come up with a solution?"

"How could Jenny let her son raise another man's child? She will definitely find a way to stop it."

"What can she do? Quarmy doesn't care about whether she is alive or dead now. How can he listen to her?"

"That's because he knows that Jenny won't really die. This method can only be used once. Only fools will be threatened again and again." Yale sneered. "If she can't convince her son, she will definitely come to Monica. At that time, we can help her."

The wind blew at night. Monica wrapped her coat tightly and hurried downstairs with rubbish. At a glance, she saw a black Maybach downstairs. She was shocked. Didn't Roland leave? Why did he come back? She subconsciously walked to the side of the car and said, "Roland!"

Quarmy did not expect to see Monica at this time at all. After quarreling with his mother, he was sad in his heart, so he drove around. He found that he had no place to go. Later, he unconsciously drove the car here.

He was very upset. He opened the cigarette case and took out a cigarette. When he was about to light it, he heard a familiar voice. She was calling him Roland.

His breath suddenly stopped, and he was still holding a cigarette box in his hand.

He looked at the familiar slim figure running over and stood in front of his car. After she saw clearly that it was him in the car, her smiling face was frozen little by little, and then she turned around without hesitation.

He opened the door and got out of the car without thinking.

"Moni!" He strode forward and grabbed her hand.

Monica tried hard to break free, but he grabbed her tightly. She was anxious. "Quarmy, let me go!"

"I have something to say to you." Quarmy grabbed her hand and dragged her into the car and lock the car regardless of her resistance.

"I'm not interested in your words." Monica struggled. She reached out to pull the door, naturally, she couldn't open it. Quarmy held her hand and said in a hoarse voice, "Moni, please sit with me for a while, please!"

His voice was full of unspeakable sadness. Monica's body stiffened and she subconsciously looked at him. Quarmy's eyes were full of sadness. When she saw the sadness in his eyes, her heart suddenly ached.

Her heart, which had been numb for a long time, suddenly ached. She looked away and took her hand out of his hand. She tried to keep calm and asked, "What do you want to say?"
