Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1116

Marina waited until Cindy left before she let her expression return to normal, then she continued on her way to the restroom.

Carson reached out and grabbed her wrist, with a smile on his face, "I'm just curious, were you really going to lend her money?"

"Lend her money?" Marina scoffed, "I'd rather slap her twice, wonder if she'd fancy that?"

Carson's smile deepened, his eyes twinkling, "Seeing how tough you are, how could you lose to her?"

Marina's eyes dimmed a bit, she said self-deprecatingly, "Because I once believed that love should be handled with sincerity."

She laughed again, "Who's the dumber one? Some people just don't stoop to schemes and games. Those slightly smarter ones think they're better, thinking they can play others like a fiddle!"

Carson nodded, "You've got a point! We could make a good team; you can stay cool and occasionally show off your smarts!"

Marina got what Carson meant. They would never fall in love, no risk of losing themselves or their rationality. In fact, before this, she had already been thinking about breaking up with him. But now, she changed her mind.

If she could use Carson to annoy Cindy, that would be a nice bonus. And most importantly, Carson was smart!

She raised an eyebrow, "Cindy already harbors resentment towards me, and the best way to deal with a woman is to take away everything she holds dear. She'll certainly come after you, are you sure you can withstand the schemes of a cunning and beautiful woman?"

Carson chuckled, "To be honest, Cindy's looks and tactics are far from my taste!"

This made Marina extremely pleased, and she raised her hand for a high five, "Deal!"

Carson slapped her hand in agreement, finding the whole situation amusing.

Marina said, "You've helped me, so if you ever need anything, just let me know."
