Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1171

Her brows were still furrowed. "Is that Yulia, the new leading lady Mr. Tucker picked?"

"Yep," Estelle replied casually.

"Why were you at the Midnight Bar?"

"Yulia invited me; she wanted to discuss the design of the costumes."

"Why was she drugged?"

"I don't know; as soon as I walked in, I saw her being taken away."

Jonathan glanced at her wounds and gave her a sidelong look. "Couldn't you have called security? You think you're superhero?"

Estelle, rebuked by him, her face expressionless, replied lightly, "Their car was parked right at the door, only a few steps away; there was no time for security."

"Was she worth the risk?"

"No!" Estelle looked at him resolutely and said, "She might have had an ulterior motive for inviting me today, but I couldn't just stand by and do nothing!"

"You're sure she would've died?" Jonathan concealed his anger. "Did you think about me? What would I do if something happened to you? Two years ago, I almost lost my life, you know?"

Estelle was stunned by his words, staring blankly at him.

She didn't know, nor did she understand what he meant.

But she knew he cared about her; otherwise, why would she so obediently accept his scolding?

Jonathan took a deep breath. "You might think I'm heartless, because Yulia's life or death has nothing to do with me, but you can't be; your life is more important than mine!"

Estelle's fingers were a little numb, her heart was pounding, and she said slowly, "I'll be okay; you have to trust me."

Jonathan looked at her deeply and said, "For those we care too much about, nobody can stay calm."
