Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1212

Charlie stopped playing with his toys, and slowly said, "Your Grandma's got it wrong, kiddo. Your Mom and Dr. Martin aren’t going to be happy together."

"Why?" Kya's big eyes looked at Charlie with innocence.

Charlie smiled, "They’re just not a good fit."

Kya looked a bit confused, she then asked, "What about you and Mom, Uncle Charlie? Are you a good fit?"

Being caught off guard, Charlie paused, and a hint of sadness flashed in his eyes. He chuckled lightly, "Nah, we’re not either, because your Mom doesn’t dig me, kiddo."

"If you were nicer to Mom, she might like you," Kya innocently suggested.

Charlie snorted lightly, "I don't give a hoot whether she likes me or not, as long as you do, that’s all that matters."

Kya patted his shoulder, speaking like an adult, "I’ll put in a good word for you to Mom."

Charlie teased her, "What're you planning on saying?"

Kya thought for a moment, "I'll tell Mom, 'If you like Uncle Charlie, he will buy you cookies.'"

Charlie burst out laughing at this, bending over in laughter.

Emily came in, seeing the adult and child sitting on the carpet. She didn't know what Kya had said, but it had Charlie cracking up.

Emily paused; she hadn’t seen Charlie laugh like that in a long time.

Seeing her, Charlie’s laughter slowly faded.

"Mom!" Kya shouted, "Uncle Charlie said if you like him, he'll buy you cookies!"

Emily's eyes widened in surprise, "What?"

Charlie was speechless.

Emily quickly explained, "Kya is still young, she may not fully understand what adults say. Don’t mind her, Mr. James.”

Charlie glanced at her, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth, "I think Kya understands more than you do."

Emily was taken aback.

Charlie frowned at her, "What’s up?"
