Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1331

Emily looked a bit puzzled. Squinting for a moment, she asked, "So, you're saying I should try to accept Martin?"

Charlie's face suddenly stiffened, and he spat out angrily, "I shouldn't have protected you that day; I should've just watched as Sherry laid into you!"

He was seething, and he downed half a glass of booze in one go.

Emily turned away, her lips pressed tightly together.

Charlie spotted her trying to suppress a giggle, and realizing that Emily was teasing him, he couldn't help but chuckle along.

Jonathan and Estelle returned from the balcony, smiling and saying, "It's getting late. Ella and I are going to hit the hay; you guys should too."

Emily blushed slightly, deliberately asking Charlie in Estelle's presence, "Are you planning to crash in the guest room?"

Charlie looked up. "Didn't I bunk in the master bedroom last time?"

Well, that just made things a heck of a lot more complicated!

Jonathan, still smiling, took Estelle's hand, and they left.

Emily saw Jonathan and Estelle out, feeling a bit miffed. She didn't look at Charlie but went straight back to her room.

Charlie was feeling a bit antsy. He wanted to have a smoke, but he picked up a cigarette and then put it back down.

After a while, Emily came out with a bathrobe, placed it on the arm of the sofa, and said, "Go take a shower!"

After she said that, she bent down to start tidying up the poker cards and wine glasses on the table.

Emily's eyes were slightly lowered, her profile was soft, and her lips were moist and soft; even without lipstick, they glowed under the light.

Charlie was even more edgy, trying to make conversation: "Why haven't you used the lipstick I gave you?"

Emily turned to look at him, thinking he was blaming her for wasting his gift. She quickly said, "I couldn't wear makeup when I was pregnant; I've gotten used to going bare-faced now."

In Charlie's mind, she looked better this way than any lipstick color could make her, but he said, "You can wear makeup now; go get it and try it on."
