Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 242

Charlie was slightly taken aback, but politely let him in. "Emily said she had something to take care of at home, why don't you give her a call?"

Shawn Sullivan carefully entered the room, looking around. Many of the items in the house were unfamiliar to him, but they clearly belonged to someone with a lot of money.

Both surprised and delighted, his attitude became even more respectful and cautious.

Charlie poured a glass of water for him. "Please have a seat."

"Alright, alright!" Shawn took the water with both hands, fearfully and cautiously, and sat down on the sofa, asking, "Is my daughter living with you?"

Charlie looked at the expectation in the man's eyes, a hint of coldness in his own, and smiled faintly, "No, I recently got a little injured, so I hired Emily to take care of me."

"Oh, that's how it is!" The man's face showed clear disappointment.

As he looked at the leather sofa and expensive coffee table, he felt it was a pity.

With a faint, indifferent smile, Charlie asked, "Do you need Emily for something? Why not give her a call?"

The man's voice was hoarse, "Actually, calling her or not wouldn't make much of a difference."

After saying that, and without waiting for Charlie to respond, he continued, "Here's the thing, her mom is sick and needs a hundred thousand dollars for surgery. We spent all the money on buying Emily’s brother’s new house, so we have nothing left. I came here thinking I could ask her for some money, but seeing that she has to rely on nursing others to pay for her tuition, I just can't bear it!"

As Shawn spoke, he wiped his tears, looking helpless and sad.

Frowning, Charlie thought about Emily crying in her room just moments ago, and it was because of this.

"Emily probably doesn't have that much money either. So, let me give you the money. Go get your wife's treatment first." Charlie said.

Shawn suddenly looked up with tearful eyes, excitedly asking, "Really? You're willing to lend me a hundred thousand dollars?"
