Gorgeous Couple’s Sweet Love novel Chapter 145

After hanging up the phone, I squatted down on the field and cried. After a long time, someone grabbed my wrist. I turned my head and saw Zack. His dark eyes reflected what a crying mess I was.

I choked with sobs and said, "Zack, Ellis just called Benjamin and asked him why I brought Anthony to Ireland without him. Although he doesn't understand much as a seven-year-old child, he was indeed hurt and feeling sad. I don't deserve to be his mother. He's seven years old and for six and a half of them, I was there with him."

Zack frowned slightly. He patted his hand on the back of my hand and tried to comfort me. "Ellis has always been sensible, and he will understand why you did this."

I replied with an "alright" and said, "I will go back to City B to him after Christmas and explain it to him in detail. I don't want this to be stuck in his heart. I hope he can grow up happily."

Zack said in a gentle voice, "Yes, he will."

I looked at Laurelie sitting on a rocking chair in the distance and said softly, "I heard that Laurelie got hurt in North America a few months ago."

Zack followed my line of sight and said lightly, "Well, she went with a group of G.l. Joes to explore an island. That went into a storm and she had to stay in a Germany hospital till a few days back."

Laurelie's face was indeed very pale, making her seem strangely quiet in the bustle, and her eyes were more quiet than ever.

What had she been through in the past few months?

No matter what she experienced, I knew her life was on the line more than a few times.

I wiped away the tears at the corner of my eye, stood up, and walked towards Laurelie. Zack hesitated for a moment and followed me.

I stood in front of her and asked, "Laurelie, how are you?"

Laurelie said softly, "Emma, I'm very sad."

I looked at Zack, who was standing behind her, tall and straight, and asked in a low voice, "What are you sad about? How's your injury?"

"How's my injury?" Her eyes were a little distracted, and she said in a low and hoarse voice, "Emma, he's gone."

My hand gripped hers tightly. "Who's gone?" I asked.

"Davis." Laurelie was stunned. She grabbed the dog tag, which belonged to the American soldier. I saw the name Davis carved on it, and she said, "He pushed me up from the cliff before he was torn into pieces by those beasts."

Something must have happened during their adventure. That Davis she was talking about must have sacrificed himself for her.

Laurelie's life was far away from me. It was so far that I couldn't understand her feelings and what she did. She bowed her head and spat out a mouthful of blood. Zack immediately held her in his arms and went to the hospital.

In the hospital, the doctor said, "It's just that she's too depressing."

The depression caused her to spit out blood. It seemed like Davis had a deep impact on Laurelie. At the very least, he would be unforgettable for the rest of her life.

When Laurelie woke up, she felt sorry. She left her birthday gift for Emy behind and left in a hurry. Before that, I said to Zack, "Go with her. She needs someone to accompany her now."

Zack closed his eyes and drove behind her.

I could feel the entanglement, fear, and helplessness in Zack's heart, and I knew those feelings were not going to subsidue when he faced up with Laurelie.

On the way back to the villa, Bob suddenly said, "My uncle must have fallen in love with Laurelie."

Bob's expression was neither happy nor sad. I remembered that he liked Laurelie, so I had to say, "That's up to fate."

"To be honest, it's not easy for Zack to fall in love with a person, given his personality," Bob said in a relieved tone. "If he really loves Laurelie, then I don't mind it."

He said angrily, "If he really gets married to Laurelie, she, a 20-year-old girl, will become my aunt! Emma, the girl I like will become my aunt!"

This was indeed a sad thing.

After Bob spat out angrily, he asked, "How is September now? I heard that she's going to get married in one month?"

"Well, let's go to her wedding together at that time."

I thought for a moment and asked, "You are gonna give her any gift?"

Bob said firmly, "She could dream on about it!"

When we returned to the suburban villa, I saw my nephew holding Emy. He held her in his arms and talked to her gently, "Don't cry, Emy. It's okay to fall, you just have to get back up on your feet. I'll give you a candy later, okay?"

I walked over to Anthony and asked, "Did Emy fall?"

Anthony withdrew his gaze from Emy and said softly, "Yeah, and she cried."

I took Emy into my arms, followed Anthony and said, "I heard that Emy can speak very well now."

Anthony thought for a moment and said, "She won't call me brother."

I handed Emy to Anthony and said with a smile, "Have a little patience, she's just one-year-old now. She's a clever girl."

Anthony gently and carefully held her in his arms, praising her in a soft and tender voice, "She's a clever girl, indeed."

Anthony's hand grabbed the back of Emy's head and said, "I'll take her back to the room. She's covered with snow."

I said, "Go ahead."

After he left with Emy, I said a few words to my aunt and went back to my room. I opened the door and saw Anthony wiping Emy's hand, but her little feet were on Anthony's chin.

"Where's her bottle?" I asked.

"It's in my pocket." Anthony took it out of his pocket and handed it to Emy. She held it in his arms for a long time and suddenly stopped.

Anthony smiled helplessly and said, "She peed."

I quickly carried her into the bathroom to change her pants. When I went out, I saw that Anthony had left, and her pants disappeared.

Ten minutes later, Anthony knocked on the door and said in a gentle tone, "Aunt, I've washed her pants already. Don't worry about it."

The boy who used to be like Benjamin and Zack became gentle and considerate under the grinding of a year's time.

He restrained all his rage and arrogance.
